john luke Posted April 27, 2023 Posted April 27, 2023 Is anyone familiar with Prague? I am looking for suitable hotels located in the area around Old Town Square and Wenslesness Square. It is a few years since I last visited and the hotels I used no longer appear on the Jet2 Holidays website.
forcebwithu Posted April 27, 2023 Posted April 27, 2023 How long ago were there? Here's a TR on Prague from 2021. Perhaps @Horizondave can answer your question.

It came after New Orleans and before St. Petersburg. Then I came to Thailand on impulse and threw the list away. 2 1 1

Horizondave Posted April 27, 2023 Posted April 27, 2023 Prague, probably my favourite city in Europe. If you like walking it is a great city to explore by foot. Trams available and taxis if needed but walking gives you the atmosphere. I have stayed at a few hotels over the years so I can only offer their links as they are all in different places. Michel Angelo Grand https://www.michelangelograndhotel.com/en/ I chose that hotel as it was a good base for Wenceslas Square and the Church of St Cyril & Methodius (see link below). It is a little further south than the Jewish Quarter and the Old town but a great stay none the less, still very central to most of the sights and sounds. Even got a Tesco within a 2 min walk if needing provisions. Loads of bars and restaurants nearby as well as the trams around the corner. https://www.pragueexperience.com/places.asp?PlaceID=1228 Hotel Century Old Town (a MGallery Hotel) https://all.accor.com/hotel/3440/index.en.shtml Stayed here a few years back, great location for Old Town and Jewish Quarter. I stayed here as the Cedok Airport Shuttle stopped around the corner (No longer operating). Great hotel, a lot of history attached to it as well as Franz Kafka had an office in the building before it became a hotel. Trams outside the door. I have stayed in Best Western Hotels in Old Town as well but I have noticed they are no longer part of the chain, probably was the cheapest of the options as well. Both the hotels, shown above with links, have raised their prices considerably since I last stayed there but still great options. I would use Booking.Com etc., for maps of the hotels available and look for where you really want to be located. That's how I chose my hotel plus the reviews, both on the hotel website and TripAdvisor. I used Hotels.Com to book the Michelangelo and Accor direct, to book the Century Hotel.
Freee!! Posted April 27, 2023 Posted April 27, 2023 It's been a couple of years since I last was there, so anything from me will be outdated, but I would like to get up to date again as I may visit Prague in the near future.
