  2. Perhaps a bit of nostalgia now days But I can remember and probably will still see it next trip Guys leaving their accommodation with their "femme de jour" on their arm and still wearing their attire from the previous night in the bar or gogo. Then taking them to breakfast with some possible awkward conversations or lack of them We have all done it, I am sure I used to feel a little uncomfortable, so in later years, I would pay them off and get them to leave before me, to avoid any mock romance. Nowadays most of my courting is done via gentlemen clubs etc, and I can enjoy breakfast alone or with a mate. I used to have breakfast at Le Katai which was in Soi Lengkee and enjoyed watching the newly bonded couples walk down the steps of Opey de Place, opposite and deciding where to enjoy a romantic breakfast. I have become very cynical in my old age, I guess

  3. 2 days to go !!! FYI there's a new rule this season , because of the World Cup , during the break in the season you get effectively a free wildcard , you can do as many transfers as you like ... so best to use Wildcard1 earlier in the season ( it expires on 12th Nov ) https://www.premierleague.com/news/2696347

  4. My business plan was always take them to breakfast somewhere as a general rule, most of the gals I dealt with were pretty cool as a general rule and quite frankly, I enjoyed their company while "on tour" I figured that back home, I spent enough time alone. But beware as I found out, be careful that you do not let your gal order for you the next morning. I let this gal order me an Omelette "Thai Style" after an over nighter.....it tasted like "worms" Not pleasant at all.

  5. Having stayed in Secrets Hotel many times the only walk of shame was going back to room or to breakfast alone.

  6. Used to be hard to get them to leave years ago, wanted to stay all day. Quite enjoyed the company, especially on trip's out sightseeing. Went to the village with one I saw regularly. Last few trips most wanted to leave early morning.

  8. I remember, going back a few years now, that I used to occasionally frequent bar where the girls would play pool naked for a small stipend. I wonder if something like that exists today? That would be right up my street. Deciding whether to go for the brown or the pink😊

  10. The big question, are people shopping here?.....The Soi Excite location, in my opinion is a out of sight out of mind location....But I will give them a 10 for ease of parking.....Where as Treetown gets a zero for parking but gets a 10 for location...

  12. I barfined a girl in Cowboy in the late 80's,she was young & very pretty & said shall we get a tuk tuk....my hotel was just around the corner(can't remember the name but it was a proper cheap dump) so I said no we'll walk. She was high as a kite on something & dressed in real kinky fake leather gear....& walked really slowly along Sukhumvit. I tried to keep my distance but it was obvious that we were together & everyone on the street was staring at us. She threw up in my sink after a BJ & I ended up cleaning it up.I nearly threw up doing it. I f***d her off as soon as I had my way & then in the morning couldn't understand why there was all these little stars in the wall. The mirror on the wall was actually a window & the stars were pinpricks of light coming into the room.Anyone outside would've had a good view.

  16. May be of use to someone: https://www.headforpoints.com/2021/04/01/how-can-you-book-hotels-using-avios-2/ Much better value using Nectar for hotels than Avios & also free cancellation so I just converted all my Avios to Nectar by following the links in the above website. Going to use them for a 6 night stay in Citadines Soi 11 on our forthcoming trip.

  22. There are a lot of cunts out there ... one of the worst aspects of social media anonymous accounts shouldn't be allowed, if you want to give your opinion directly to celebrities , politicians and sportspersons, then you should be verified ( Facebook, instagram and twitter type platforms ) I'm not sure why some prominent people put themselves through it ... Ronaldo uses it as a marketing tool for his "brand" , but I doubt Harry earns much from it ..

  23. Happy Bar. On the North road of Rompho about midway thru the complex. Standard Rompho Bar about 25% gay. Good service for drinks.

  24. The Blue Parrot. Opened very recently. Pretty much a straight bar as near as I can recall. It is near the front of Rompho but midway between the two main roads. They have decent music a couple of night a week. The price of beer is very good at 50 THB. The house wine is terrible, but they have a 200 THB corkage fee. Decent pool table.

  25. NY 1969 or something like that. On the South Road of Rompho near the front with lots of blue lights. The owner was a former hair stylist of the GF and foto bombed every picture I exchanged with her prior to us getting serious. He is definitely a katoey who attracts decent money from gay men. The bar is not exclusively gay, but there is an influence. We attended on opening night and the crowd was about 50% gay and 50% straight. They had a few sexy ladies playing to the straights. The owner is intelligent, personable, and knows how to play to the crowd. The music is too loud for me.

  26. There seems to be some interest in Rompho, so I will pass on a little of what I have observed recently. The lights are coming back on, but IMO I think it will be a tough road for the new owners. To level set things, the GF and I have been together for 6 years now. Prior to that and in the early years of our being together she ran a string of hair salons in the Jomtien area. Many of her customers were katoeys and bar girls. Many of them are still friends of hers and in some cases mine as well. In recent weeks we have been to 3 bar opening parties in Rompho, I will review then separately. All of them were more of less laid back with no hate toward straights/katoeys or others. Only drunken assholes are not invited.

  28. This past Saturday...took a stroll around Fort Scott...an old military base in San Francisco. . . . Fort Winfield Scott -- Golden Gate National Recreation Area, Presidio of San Francisco https://www.nps.gov/places/000/fort-winfield-scott.htm https://www.nps.gov/prsf/learn/historyculture/fort-scott.htm#:~:text=On June 19%2C 1912%2C Fort, manned between 1891 and 1946. During the Vietnam War, the Presidio was a functioning US Army post complete, with its own stockade, used to jail enlisted men who had committed violations against their terms of service. In the late 1960s, 127 men were held at the Presidio as military prisoners. The majority were serving time for AWOL offenses. 123 soldiers were kept in Building 1213, a facility fit to hold a maximum 88

  29. I live in Jomtien. I have noticed a few new bars opening in Rompho with a few decent looking ladies. Back in the day I liked the smaller bars on soi 7 and the adjacent sois. That description includes Rompho IMO. These places were/are very hit or miss, but if one enjoys diamond in the rough hunting ..... I would mention two places. Escobar is on Thappraya a little before Jomtien Beach Road. I have noticed a few very cute girls in there while walking past with the GF. I even got a curt "what you looking at" out of the GF on one occasion. Many other times, I did not see any ladies that might interest me. A place I like to kick back with some friends is Cafe Samba Banana located on soi Thappraya (not Thappraya Road). If you are looking for Walking Street level stunners, this is not the place for you. Many of the ladies here are not working girls, but if a few laughs and pleasant conversation with some very nice Thai MILFs interests you.... A disclaimer is that the GF and I have known the owner for several years. Also, I hear that some of the ladies, although not being interested in your short term interests, could well be a conduit to said short term interests. Link follows. https://m.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100196130072290&__tn__=C-R

  31. Fuel dropped over 10p a litre by me. Just ain't got a fucking bike now it's going down lol. Bread at M&S has only gone up from 65p to 75p, though their own brand Weetabix has gone up 45p to £1.95 for 24 since the war started. Some products seem to be not much dearer.

  34. Good luck with finding a non-government hospital in Thailand that will offer low cost treatment. Even the government hospitals, which often have the same specialists as work in the private hospitals, are no longer a cheap source of treatment. A year ago a government hospital wanted me to pay 200K baht up front before they would accept me as an out patient to decide what treatment I needed, if any.
