Just woke up after another good afternoon/evening out meeting up with a few guys in Pattaya. Lk Metro was alive and well with lots of girls everywhere. Went into Heaven Above in Boomerang for the first time and quite liked the arrangement in there. Also went into Buzzing bar on Pot hole. My mate is a fan of his chanel. I was very impressed with how he has the bar set up. A pool table, separate drinking area and another area with nice segregated seating with the facility to drawer a curtain around for a bit of privacy with your company. Many nice girls were present and a cold towel was administered by one of them on arrival. They left after and there was no pressure for company which I really liked. We finished off in Kink as my mate had never been in there. After me explaining the situation upstairs, I was horrified to see all the girls dressed with the over throw on which they use to go outside. I know a few girls in there, so quickly found out that they had just been raided by the bib and they were still present in the office. Apparently they were checking all of the girls ID for age and Thai nationality. All went well and before we finished our first beer, the PA lit up with the instructions to the girls that normal service was resumed, much to the surprise and delight of my mate! He will be scarred for life. Lol.

Very good price for wine at Friendship....795 Baht for 3 Liters... Cheapest price I have seen for a looooong time.... In the good old days I was paying 325 for 1.5 Liters...

Gambas al ajillo,I Googled prawns fried in olive oil & the recipe for this popped up so I cooked it.Had it before in Spain. Spanish prawns cooked in olive oil,garlic & chili. Lovely with a nice Rioja.

I finally had enough of Windows 11 and bought a new laptop which I've downgraded to Windows 10. Moving my apps over to the new laptop has gone smoothly and I'm quite pleased how fast everything is running, and how fast reboots are compared to Win 11. Hopefully Microsoft does better on their next OS version.

Personally, I have never liked beer bar complexes. Or maybe, more accurately, I infinitely prefer the ambience of the individual bar/club with a good but not too loud sound system, air con, cold beers and hot slim friendly girls. I mean, whats not to like? Given how it would seem Pattaya already has an over-abundance of existing beer bar complexes mostly devoid of paying customers does anybody think adding new ones to the mix is going to be any more successful?

A big traffic jam in Pattaya an hour or so ago (c17:45) along Beach Road from Klang to Thai Airways office, caused by a gathering of regular police, tourist police and immigration people. Their parked vehicles taking up a traffic lane caused the problem.

My order was split into two deliveries. One for frozen goods (349 baht)and one for dry goods (50 baht) for a 10 hour drive by the shortest route Pattaya to my house !! Today I received the frozen goods. Sealed foam box with (evaporated) dry ice, delivered in a refrigerated van. All meat still frozen only a couple of pies the pastry had started to defrost but not the filling. It was delivered to the house out in the village way off the main road. Prior to deciding on using Expatfoods I checked with some product suppliers and they only delivered to the nearest bus station. I am very happy with their service. Soi Boxing (Soi Nittapat) is the street for drinking, a good few bars there. Has a few restaurants, a great Italian and an Aussie place that does good breakfasts. If you tell a taxi driver, take me to Soi Boxing, they will know where you want to go. Of course a walk along the Mekong promenade between the market (Tha Sadet) and the Mut Mee hotel has a few places to have a quiet drink. A few places also on the road just parallel to the promenade are Ok for a quiet drink. The Mut Mee is a lovey place to sit and drink with a great view over the Mekong and the Friendship bridge.

About to head out to the gym, weather seems to be getting better so hopefully ends up nice so I can get out of the house.

The delay is usually caused at Swampy. For some reason they consistently seem unable to turn the aircraft around on time from Taipei ready to fly to London. It's been going on for a long time now. I haven't made my normal train time home my last few trips. This time I didn't bother booking one. I will just see what time I get to Kingscross, then jump on the next train home and pay the going rate.

I think the flight originates in Taipei. As you say, late departure seems to be the norm on that flight. Most often, though, it makes up the time en route, so I suspect the late departure has something to do with not arriving early at LHR.

Cold beer and lots of it, and decent shower and A/C when you get home! Woke up yesterday with cold, cough and bad hangover so had a quiet one last night; hangover's gone but the cold lingers, however it's time to get out and get some stuff done. I hate hot weather colds but I seem to catch at least one per extended trip, damned curse...
