  10. My lungs must look like a slab of bacon then.... lol I've thought for a few years now .... if I haven't died from - a car wreak, gun shot, or foul ball, then most likely lung cancer or a virus would eventually get me. Go figure. Of course most of us will end up six feet under due to heart failure. Fine by me.... I just hope that the hottie riding my horsy gets over the trauma reasonable soon after.

  15. The hair pulling incident reminded me of a similar incident with QPR but my memory is too vague to name the players concerned. Perhaps either you or @galenkia can help me out. It was either Rodney Marsh or Stan Bowles and maybe George Best that did it. I think it resulted in a punch and a booking...( A straight red nowadays of course) I remember MOTD slowing down the action and what initially was somebody jokingly ruffling hair turned out to be quite a nasty tug

  17. Took a long walk today this morning came across this Campground area and a baseball batting cage business. The only reason I found them interesting was that they're only about a half a kilometer off of Sukhumvit here in Bangkok.

  19. It was the 2nd part of that that stopped me, that plus getting an answer to any question from KLM or trying to understand the Dutch government's website being frustrating... As is it I'm booked into a sleeping pod for a few hours, hoping that KLM will pay when I go through the official complaints channel. If not, well, it's only money....

  21. First and only time I was injured in Patts, was at Babydolls... sat by the entrance, and was hit on my toe by a stray icecube fired from the stage.

  22. Nothing comes close to Babydolls IMO. No other "bar" can or probably ever will be compared (from my perspective) to it. That is why I did not list it in my opening post. It is (was) in a class of it's own.

  24. Unless they say they're washable, they ain't. Can you clean a HEPA filter? If you see visible buildup of dust or particles on a HEPA filter (it may look gray or dirty) or observe reduced airflow through your portable air purifier, you may assume that’s an indication the HEPA filter needs cleaning. However, experts say HEPA filters should always be replaced rather than cleaned. “You cannot clean a HEPA filter by using something like a vacuum because the particles are trapped not only on the surface of the filter, but also deep inside the media,” Bloemer says. Don’t even think about running it under your sink, either—liquids like water and soap will destroy the filter media, he adds. When you’re seeing buildup on a HEPA filter, that’s all the captured particles, which can range from particles generated from combustion (think car exhaust, gas stoves, and candles) to mold spores and animal dander, says Ted Myatt, ScD, senior scientist at Environmental Health & Engineering. These particles can be generated indoors or outdoors and migrated through open windows, wall joints, or cracks. It may sound counterintuitive, but on one level, a HEPA filter may work better when it has a thin, caked-on layer of collected particles—but at some point, air will have a hard time getting through the filter, Myatt says, which means the filter needs to be replaced. The one exception to replacing a HEPA filter when it’s dirty is if you have an air system that has a prefilter in front of the HEPA filter, Negron says. This prefilter will capture some of the larger dust and particles, and some of these prefilters are washable to enable you to remove the dust and debris they collect—note that this is not the actual HEPA filter, though. Again, experts agree that HEPA filters should always be replaced when dirty, not cleaned. https://www.realsimple.com/home-organizing/cleaning/hepa-air-filter-cleaning

  25. Heard from a friend who was out last night the madness has begun in Pattaya. He was on his way home when, in his words "Because of the highly publicized ban on water throwing in the media, many unsuspecting farangs got soaked just milling around tree town. No cops to be seen. The young kids liked it, but plenty of old farts like me were completely taken by surprise attack. Not funny at all when you don't expect it." Except for the 19th, the idiots out there consider everyone fair game to get soaked, which annoys the fck out of me and many others.

  26. After you run the units for months you will see just how dirty air in a condo or house really is....Your filters will turn black....The filters can be gently washed off with water (no scrubbing), but I think they should be replaced at least once a year... For health I think its one of the best investments around.. There will still be a bit of room dust build-up,but a whole lot less than before..

  27. I am in Bangkok I've got a Lenovo ThinkPad 3rd generation it only had 4 gig of RAM and it would freeze up run pretty slow from time to time I would just put up with it. But I decided since I'm here I'll go to Fortune mall and see if I can get an 8 gig stick of DDR3 memory. I know it's New Years here in Thailand but I figured some of the places would be open in fortune and I was right but there were a lot closed in any event the best price I could find on a new 8 gig stick was 1200 baht. So I kept wandering around Came Upon a shop where guys were dismantling some laptops all they had was ddr4 memory which was no good to me. I kept strolling around. In walking back I passed their Booth again and the guy called me over he has pulled a 8 gig stick out of an old laptop that he was dismantling. He said if I was willing to gamble he'd let me have it for 200. As is no guarantee no warranty. I pulled the four gig stick out put 8gig in the computer recognized it right away I ran the windows diagnostic memory test And it came back with no errors or flaws winner winner. Some days chicken salad some days chicken shit it was chicken salad today 🙂

  28. *** Regarding transfers for immigration "income requirements" (Thailand) - monthly direct deposits of at least 65,000 baht (or more) --- 3rd party transfers (such as Wise) may not be considered "acceptable" from the Thai authorities. There is a code (recorded on each transfer) that they will look at. Direct bank to bank "wire" transfers should have the proper code (not sure about ACH transfers though). However, 3rd party transfers (such as Wise, Zelle, etc.) may not be. Important to check with your bank in order to make sure you are using the proper transfer method in order to satisfy this requirement. **** Someone could be transfering in the proper amount for several months. Then go to get their visa or extension and learn that they have not fulfilled the "income requirements" because of the incorrect code. Advisable to have a recurring transfer number established with your home bank prior to beginning these transfers. Once you have this set up all you will need to do following that is to give the bank that number each time you make the monthly transfer of at least the minimum amount required. Of course there is a fee involved in this (amount of fee varies from bank to bank)..... but by doing these wire transfers you should be issued the proper code that will be indicated on your bank records. If not, you may be in for some massive headaches.

  30. I just finished reading a book named "Munich" by Robert Harris, an author I have enjoyed before; for once, I actually saw the Netflix movie first but then spotted the novel in a used bookstore and hadn't realized that Harris was the author of the original story - here's a picture of the movie poster: I'm pleased to say that the movie does a good job of the book.
