  1. Our 33rd anniversary meal, the missus always wants to cook rather than eat out. First one is a sort of DIY prawn cocktail(she ate the heads,me the bodies),then a filet steak, she had a steak medallion.I thought it was going to be pepper sauce but turned out to be honey & mustard, which was a bit bland so I added a load of her chili sauce. So I was eating Colman's English mustard with Thai chili. Washed down with a bottle of cheapo Tesco Champagne....as I type this I'm just about to open a nice red. The last one was why I married her in 1991.....

  2. In the early '70s it was.. - Ox Blood Doc Martens - Faded parallel jeans with sewn in turnups (flares were already old fashioned !!!). Definitely no holes and none of that stone wash bullshit! - Faux US Marine T-Shits - Wrangler jean jacket with Leeds badges sewn on. (My cream Harrington was kept for nights out in Manchester. Mainly in C'est La Vie one and two. Worn with casual Marine Green trousers) - Two Leeds scarves one tied neatly worn inside buttoned up Wrangler jacket. One worn tied to the wrist! The original scarf circa 1976

  3. The football casuals fashion era basically started with Liverpool supporters nicking stuff on their trips to Europe, closely followed by the Man Utd supporters .. QPR supporters never qualified for Europe so just copied most of their players' hair styles and were a bunch of poofters more interested in visiting women's hair salons and the Women's section of C&A than Stone Island. Points to note: Some of that post is made up .............

  6. Kappa Sport Ski Jackets were also pretty popular iirc. I stuck to my Flight Jacket though, the colours didn't suit my pasty complexion lol. Here's a great link BTW: https://creaseslikeknives.wordpress.com/2016/12/28/guest-post-bring-back-the-donkey-jacket/

  11. Update. Unfortunately, whilst very tasty, it came out almost as quickly as it went in. I had to make a speedy return to my hotel room an hour later 😁 Oh well, at least it cleared the decks and I was able to head out on the town again without fear of self defecation 🤯🤯

  12. True, but I know 2 that do,(3 if you count yourself) 😉 my wife and son when they travel to Thailand.😉 Despite the fact they both have Thai passports which would give them access to some medical facilities, but obviously not as good as a decent insurance policy would provide. In fact, I also have a copy at home. I’ve yet to buy travel insurance for them in the UK from a company that doesn’t send me printed copies of the insurance policies when asked, which I scan and print off copies for her to take with her, which includes phone numbers for her to call in UK if a medical problem occurs and if either of them requires hospital treatment. She carries it with her at all times, it’s no big deal. If the guy in question did have travel insurance, but didn’t tell anyone, then the chances of anyone finding a copy is minute and his family have to find the £60k elsewhere.

  13. Just to clarify. It's not that I'm not able, it's just that I don't want to tie up that amount of money in Thailand when I can earn more than enough by investing the money to cover the agent's fee.

  18. I was very fortunate as I was an alcoholic at a young age stopped drinking on my own at 25 and haven't had a drink in almost 42 years. It's not an easy thing to kick I must have stopped drinking 50 times before it finally took and I could actually leave it. Being in the bar business here for 15 years I guess many would probably wonder how I could stay away from it. But once the initial monkey was removed from my back it was never again an issue but it's not an easy road. Years ago on the secrets forum a fairly new member asked if there was an AA meeting here in Pattaya. I saw the post come up I'm guessing before most and maybe before anyone and told anyone that criticized or gave a smart-ass remark would be removed from the forum it's not a funny thing it's a sickness. Nobody did in fact a few people posted about the meeting they have here in town.

  27. I was hit up once for that a while back. I believe it was in CM airport. 2 rookies and 1 dickhead. The 2 rookies were pleasant. The one dickhead was "fake nice". He seemed to have the kind of attitude I think you experienced. Kind of like he was showing off and thought he sensed a good target. But he missed big time as everything was in order. I was respectful and curteous throughout as anyone should be in such circumstance. As he was finishing up I shot a look at the other two guys (like, this guy is an idiot). The non-verbals back from them were (yeah, he's a dickhead). Two minutes later I was on my way.

  28. I would hazard a guess there is a significant minority that it doesn't even cross their mind they should carry a copy of their insurance card for their own protection. I'm not one of them as I always have on my person or in my hydration backpack when out running a copy of my passport and insurance. I also have copies on my phone, but realize that won't do me much good if I'm incapacitated as its password protected.

  33. Think about all the different groups of fashions from late 70s till late 80s. Punks, Mods, Skins, Ska, New Romantics , Goths , Rock,Soul Boys Dressers/Casual/ Trendies,/PerryBoys , Ravers all dressing in theor own unique styles and all into different brilliant gendres of music. Now you have.. Roadmen 🤣🤣🤣🫣 I feel sorry for the kids now they haven't got any identities and no fashions , just Instagram and pretending to enjoy life (through a lens) I'd wanna be 18 again , but in the 50s/60/70/80/90s no way in 2024.

  36. Great to see so many posters being open about sharing their inner Jimmy Somerville. The forum has become much more open and inclusive for the said posters above. I mind the shameful abuse @galenkia had to take on here when this forum first started about his gay Bros earring. It's wasn't big and and it wasn't clever, the homophobic abuse given out, you know who you are! Anyone wants to tag any board members in this Pride event, feel free.
