Couple of Pad Krapow gai's from 2 different places.

I went over to the Darkside to visit a mate last night then ended up a Dao bar. Wow, I have not been to that bar for about 12 years and it's still there and refurbished looks nothing like it used to. Not many customers there and the girls were OK and attentive. Not expensive either. Had a very pleasant time there, them ordered Bolt back to town.

God, the sacrifice I have made as an old father. Take little one to school. Come back get changed for gym, walk 20 mins into town for gym. 1 hour 20 mins, I walk back. Clean cooker including hob, do all the dishes, put out all the recycling, change the kitchen bin with old bag in recycling. Change all the bed sheets and pillow. Put the dirty sheets etc., into the washing machine. Clean the living room. Clean the car. Put away Kataleya's toys and fold her clothes and put in drawers. Now in car, waiting to pick up Kataleya. Might get a cup of tea from Kataleya when home but will be expected to cook the family meals, seems I am the only one who bothers to understand the air fryer. Lovely day. I suppose it's OK but I didn't really sign up for this.

Thought I’d have dinner at lunch time today. Sweet and sour vegan ‘chicken’ , mushrooms, aubergine, spinach, garlic, and various other herbs and spices.

Just been for a decent walk , weather is warmer , blue skies and no wind ... 👍

I am just glad that we have fforest here to lead us with his fine observations....yeah those Thai birds over 50, watch out for sure, these old geezers like me.....we are lucky, or we would have no one to take care of us, and take us out for ice cream after dinner.......we are the "golden ticket"

Quite a few years ago i met Billy Smart's (the UK circus people) nephew in a bar in Pattaya. He insisted he would buy me a drink while telling me stories of life under the big top. He even performed a circus style vanishing act after a couple of rounds and left me with the bill. He had a lot of good things to tell me about Uncle Billy.

But you did, right..? 7:17am here...been up since 5:30am... Make coffee, make breakfast for my 11.5yo daughter, make her lunch, walk the dog. Drive carpool to school at 7:50am w/her two schoolmates, 50 min RT. Grocery shopping later. House chores, etc... Pick up kid at 3:30pm; no soccer practice today (only day this week). Make dinner; help daughter ice twisted ankle; get ready for school league championship game tomorrow. The life of a single dad. Lol........One thing expats have going for the Big Time is once a Thai woman gets around 50 she is pretty much is pretty much finished in Thai society... She cant get a job unless its with the family (or at least not a good job)....She unwanted by any Thai man and bars are not to interested in hiring over 50s.... So older Expats have a massive massive choice of older women to choose from, to help care for them as they get older..... A older Expat is a older Thai womans golden ticket...

Decided to have a night off the booze, so entered another comp tonight. 9 ball this time, I won my group and made it through to the Wonga. Now sat waiting for my opponent to play the semi-final. Took a layer off my tip to get more spin as it is dry and hard from 8 months in storage here. Seems to have helped me. Not going to invest in a new tip this Winter as it will only dry out again.

It may affect some but it's not going to affect all of them unfortunately here they pick and choose who they want to close despite many many businesses doing the same thing. A good example the Barbie bar which was right across from the triangle bar was warned about serving after hours. Lots of bars get visits from the police we got them at baby dolls we got them at secrets telling us to close and when they did we closed. Barbie bar with no different but apparently the envelopes weren't being passed about and they close them for 5 years despite them doing no more than most every other bar. We're in Thailand and cash is King. It can magically change rules

Well, maybe a record but my mate got his e-visa last night. Applied 1100 Wednesday, email with e-visa arrived 1830 on Thursday. That's a pretty good service. He is well chuffed as he believed he had applied too late, but a big smile on his face now.

A few years ago I needed some fine salt but only had coarse sea salt. So I put a bit in the spice grinder, gave it a spin, then a bit more. Have you ever had salt with the consistency of icing sugar? ie. salt powder. On the other hand here's a lamp made out of a 7kg "grain" of salt. I don't think there's an SI unit for a grain of salt.

Thailand into the KO stages

Played fairly average for me. Lost my first match 8 to 7 after snookering myself on the 8, jumping over the 10 ball, potted the 8 and the white went in. Oh hum! The second game I got hammered by a guy playing very well. Both guys were giving me a start, so way better than me. One came 3rd and the other came 4th in the comp. Was a good night watching some of the elite play whilst enjoying Beer Loa dark.

My first thought was these had been dumped to be used for the new inland pavement, but then I saw these.... Along the same lines here in BKK, my Visa is up for renewal this month. I have a "Marriage Visa" so 400k baht is in the bank no problem right? I use my wife's friend she met in college as she now owns an LLC business that also does Visa's etc. From 2016-2019 when I was here before going home until coming back here in 2022, she would come by the house for dinner every year to pick up my Visa. This year the same a few weeks back, get a call from her last week telling me that an Immigration Officer at Chaeng Wattana wants me to be there in person this past Tuesday at 2:00pm. I asked her why and she said "Just some new rules, nothing to worry about and no questions will be asked of you" So wifey and I meet her there, wait 40 minutes, this gal comes out and says my name, I go to the desk area where this Officer is there. She does not say a word to me, picks up all this paperwork, picks up my passport, looks at me, motions for me to look into this camera and takes a pic. Then with her hand, motions for me to leave and that is that. From 2016-2019, I NEVER had to show up there at all.... Talking to a guy from Cleveland, Ohio who was there with his Thai wife also. Tells me the same story, using the agent for years and never had to show up until this year. Eyenong will be here today at 5:00pm for dinner, passport and all in hand and good for another year.

Great stuff. I forgot about the shopping, did some before coming back from the gym; ended up spending more than I thought, always the way but then again I love shopping. I did sign up for this but only because we left Thailand to educate our daughter in UK. There is a part of me that just wonders if it would have been a bad thing if we had just stayed in Thailand and Kataleya had been immersed fully in Thai society with schooling. I know I would be happier in Thailand, and the way the education system is in Wales, together with the way society is moving I am wondering if I have done the right thing coming home.

The ligh (regular) is very "drinkable". IMO the IPA is subperb. I am glad that you were able to imbibe in such a delecteble beverage.

Following on a bit, my biggest fashion disaster was in the 90's when I went out one night with a suede waistcoat, black shirt and blue jeans and a pair of cuban heels. I looked a right c**t. Even my mates laughed at me and I ended up getting a taxi home to get changed! 🤣 It was my fault, I wanted a change of "look" and decided upon the worst possible combo.

What could possibly go wrong.

I drank both last night as they ran out of Dark. Even the light is drinkable.
