Alan, my Son bought a Ninja last month.....first bike ever. He took all the training classes in the state of Calif, is now " certified" not sure exactly what that means, but has a Motorcycle License in the state of Calif. I am happy for him you know as a Father, always want your kids to have fun in life. Just worried the worst will happen, he now has a 6 month old Daughter and would hate to see anything go wrong you know.8 points

Better late than never, I came home with several pouches of curry paste, thanks to @Painter. Tonight I threw an onion, 400ml of coconut oil and 250g of chicken in a pan with a pouch of Penang paste. Served on a bed of Mexican rice. Very happy with the outcome and will be bringing more packets home next trip. @Binlidhas put me onto another paste to try here too, but that's for another time.5 points

Judging by the mostly flat terrain that has been shown in his previous trip reports, and the size and power of the machines he will be using, I would say his risk of having a "pretty bad accident" is basically nil - he's not burning up the mountains on a 200hp super sled - yes, you are being "Mommy like", lol... To survive on the street you basically have to be paranoid and think that every car driver is out to get you, and you need to pay attention at ALL times because there are some really, really bad car drivers out there who are NOT paying attention; especially cars that are about to turn across your path. It's one reason I used to love ripping things up offroad a lot more - all I had to worry about 99% of the time was just what was in front of me.4 points

Since I came out the hospital in January I have been in the gym every day. I do an hour on the treadmill and the screen shows around 450 calories burned. I do brisk walking at 6.0 mph, I do half hour at level incline then half hour at 5.0 incline. Really noticed the difference in my fitness, don’t get out of breath like I did before.4 points

Caught up with all of my recordings, went for a longer walk this afternoon as the sun was out and a lovely day. Called into the pub for 3 pints of Old Original as my last chance to enjoy for a while. Dinner cooked and eaten, now enjoying a bottle of red watching the snooker players championship on ITV 4.4 points

A few years ago when she was in her late 80's we bought mum an iPad & wherever I was I would give her a video call on Facetime every evening.Alas she stopped using it & now has trouble using a phone. One of her carers in the home is on Whatsapp so can call her & talk to mum on vid if she's on shift.Did that yesterday & it was the best I've seen my mum looking for some time so the home must be doing her some good.3 points

It was a great venue back in the day, well managed with consistently good food. I used to stay at the Flipper on 8 and have a hungover breakfast almost every day at the Pig or Rosies. On the subject of hotels, I think the Eastiny group is no more, as the hotel on Soi 10 has been derelict for ages.3 points

Sailor bar is arguably a Soi 8 institution these days. Many thanks to @john luke for the brilliant set of pics of both Sois. It looks like 8 is crying out for investment, the Eastiny Hotels are both derelict and empty along with a few other properties, a far cry from the days of Cherry Bar and others when the Soi was just brilliant. I wonder if the old Soi 8 GoGo is still operating?. I was in Rolling Live last year, only a handful of customers on the nights we were there, which is a shame as the band is very good, as is the service. I've no idea why the hotels have not been opened or at least refurbished. Soi 8 is an ideal location, close to the beach and Central and is now a relatively quiet Soi. The hotels had decent sized rooms, pools and were good value back in the day. Looking at Agoda, it seems the last review is 2020, so basically Covid appears to have done for them. Soi 7 does look to be picking up, a good selection of bars, all it needs is a bit more footfall and customers to head down the Soi. It seems like only yesterday I was eating breakfast in the Pig and Whistle while watching BBC news, or a re run of Only Fools and Horses on the big TV screen.3 points

Total chaos at the bag drop area, they had a queue system for people after they had checked in at the new stations, but they were letting people in that hadn't previously checked in. So once at the automated bag drop those people didn't have a boarding pass to scan. The staff were turning so many back that things got nasty with a few people kicking off. They eventually opened up 3 bag drop stations as normal check in counters. Then a foreign woman kicked off because she couldn't read the English instructions, I didn't see an opportunity to select language when I used it, but it may have been there. In my mind it should of been the first screen. Thank f**k I was early as it would only of gotten worse. All it needed was for the guy monitoring the queue to direct people to check in at the terminals first before joining the Queue. Happy to be sat drinking ESB with a full belly after eating steak pie and mash. Hope the flight is on time or I will be pissed. Lol2 points

My washing was finished so threw it all in the tumble dryer. Turned my water off in the road and just rocked up to the train station. They are doing rail repairs on the Kingscross line, so am now on a bus to Bedford to catch a train into St Pancras. The journey back starts.2 points

Mind if I borrow it for a day or two? My dogs could use the exercise chasing it around the room. And at 120B it's cheaper than some of the other chew toys I've bought for them.2 points

I speak with mum 2 or 3 times a week. She uses Skype, and has done for probably 8 years. Every so often she sends an email saying Skype has stopped working, as if I can click my fingers and make it work.... Fortunately it usually sorts itself out. She also has Facebook, WhatsApp, and even Line, but can't use them. Except.... she can talk to both by brother's teenage kids and my brother on WhatsApp....2 points

Its not on TV mate to my knowledge. I don't use streaming services only Sky Sports/UK TV/Truevisions. Having said that i don't watch evening matches from the UK as the late KO times here in Thailand are way past my bedtime.2 points

Uncle Ben's is loaded with sodium. I am trying to improve my intake of sodium and sugar, constant battle. Brown or wild rice is much lower in both. Over here when eating out not easy to get. I like to save the sugar calories for beer.2 points
