It is an odd design. Every bar beer distribution point (BDP) offers the same beer at the same price for customers to drink in what looks like a shared common space. The only distinguishing charateristic between each of the cookie cutter BDP's is a cookie cutter sign with a different name above each BDP. If I were an prospective owner, I'd be hard pressed to see the value propistion of buying a BDP in the LV Beer Garden.6 points

No idea , but it doesn't really make much difference to me how long it takes ... currently both U.K. and Thai Banks are shut .. and I'm home anyway, so not time critical for me ....I'm just topping up my account whenever rates are favourable Previous transfers have taken between 8 seconds and a couple of days ... it always gets there and the exchange rate is fixed4 points

Haven't given a look at the pricing I really don't think it's out of line but I just don't understand 10 bars in that close proximity and they're all being busy it's just competition amongst each other not to mention the competition as has been mentioned in LK Soi Diana and Boukow.4 points

I wonder what effect if any, the new complex will have on existing bars in Diana, those that have been around for years, mid way down the Soi, not to mention nearby LK Metro So many bars now, in the Buakhao, LK, Diana area. Will there be enough customers to sustain a whole evening? Tree Town has many bars, often with few customers during certain hours. Will be interesting to see how Vegas pans out. Probably a lot of interest initially but what will it offer apart from just a new strip of bars with similar format? That said I hope it does well.4 points

Conn Iggulden's 'The Abbot's Tale' was a fascinating story, covering 7 kings from Athelstan to the early years of Ethelred the Unready. He recommends also reading Tom Holland's 'Athelstan - The Making of England', so that's what I'm doing.4 points

My order was split into two deliveries. One for frozen goods (349 baht)and one for dry goods (50 baht) for a 10 hour drive by the shortest route Pattaya to my house !! Today I received the frozen goods. Sealed foam box with (evaporated) dry ice, delivered in a refrigerated van. All meat still frozen only a couple of pies the pastry had started to defrost but not the filling. It was delivered to the house out in the village way off the main road. Prior to deciding on using Expatfoods I checked with some product suppliers and they only delivered to the nearest bus station. I am very happy with their service. My recommendation is that if you are living remotely and miss Aussie/NZ Lamb and Beef or a better choice of cheese and sausages at a cheaper price than Big C if they stock it, then check them out and compare with your own ideas!! https://expatfoodsthailand.com/product-category/meat-poultry/?product_count=72 https://expatfoodsthailand.com/product-category/cheese-dairy-products/?product_count=724 points

I use Wise as well , if you transfer under £1k it gets there in seconds, £2k seems to take a couple of days ... fees are good and exchange rate is close to interbank3 points
-
In my opinion it is. Been using a Wise account for at least 3 years. I transfer from my Revolut acc to my Wise (no fees, usually takes minutes). Then when needed transfer from Wise to my Krung Thai account, usually takes seconds, occasionally an hour or 2. Great exchange rate and very competitive fees. I will pm you a link if you want 😃😇 edit : I have a wise card as well which I do use in the UK but never tried in an atm in Thailand3 points

Moon to get its own time zone created by NASA - but clocks work differently there NASA has been directed to create a standard time zone for the moon to make sure communications are synchronised and data transfers in space are secure. But the same clock on Earth would move differently on the moon - making the time zone both vital and complicated to develop. https://news.sky.com/story/moon-to-get-its-own-time-zone-created-by-nasa-but-clocks-work-differently-there-13106973 Please tell me the noise these clocks make are going to be called lunar-ticks.3 points

So you buy enter the shed, find a seat in the communal area, and are served a beer from BDP1. Some loud lout starts puffing away and Swearing loudly, so you move to the other end of the shed, near to BDP5. What happens when you want to checkbin? Do you have to attract the attention of a worker from BDP1? Or can a worker from BDP5 take your money? Or can you just slip out un-noticed? As you say, your huge pur have price buys you a wooden counter with fake pictures on, and a fridge, unless you're at the front when you get a modified shipping container...2 points

Personally, I have never liked beer bar complexes. Or maybe, more accurately, I infinitely prefer the ambience of the individual bar/club with a good but not too loud sound system, air con, cold beers and hot slim friendly girls. I mean, whats not to like? Given how it would seem Pattaya already has an over-abundance of existing beer bar complexes mostly devoid of paying customers does anybody think adding new ones to the mix is going to be any more successful?2 points

I don't really care to repeat the experience. Well said. I experienced a couple small ones in Costa Rica back in the early/mid 90's. I don't believe there was even much damage. But it left an impression on me.1 point
