It's been too long since my last update here, so this morning got up early to get a ride in around Mabprachan before the heat of the day kicks in. In a nutshell, last time I saw the reservoir this low at this time of year was during the drought of 2015. Sure hope rainy season is good to us this year otherwise we're probably looking at water rationing later in the year.

Many are afraid financially if they split with their wife, despite being desperately unhappy. I remember 20 years ago when my farang wife and I split up. I was unhappy for years, but hung around for the kids. Then I found Thailand, the rest, they say, is history. I remember having a few beers at the 19th one day with 7 other guys who'd been part of our group. The vast majority were unhappily married. When I told them I'd split with my wife, they were flabbergasted. I said I'd had enough and that I'm going to enjoy the rest of my life. Pretty much all of them envied me, told me I was "brave" and they all wanted to know how it would affect me financially. I gave my wife the house and her car, kept on paying for stuff on top of that for a good few years until she was settled and over it. Sure, it cost me a fortune, but it was so worth it. All these guys wanted to do what I'd done, but didn't have the balls . . .

I tell a lot of guys at work who are obviously frustrated and moaning about their wives or gfs at home....book yerself at trip to thailand for some me time,no point being unhappy at home or at work,ye only live once.

I don’t really suffer from stress so much, depression was my main problem. Was eventually diagnosed as bipolar or manic depressive as it used to be called. Had a mental breakdown two days after burying my sister and ended up being sectioned under the mental health act for 10 days. But now I feel okay mentally.

Couple or 3 weeks ago I posted on another thread about a drunken “can’t talk about it” guy who got his arse handed to him by a couple of friends who are ex US servicemen in the Brickhouse in Udon. One of the guys ran into the same guy at the weekend. He said his humbling experience was a turning point and thanked my mate profusely. Apparently he had suffered some family issues and lost himself in alcohol, ended up in Thailand for the last 6 months. He told my mate he hadn’t had a drink for 16 days and had booked a flight back to the States to try and resolve his issues. I am wishing him all the best and hope he succeeds.

Any of you guys who live here, find yourself eating less because of the brutal heat? I have lost 3 pounds in the last month....even though yes, being in an air-conditioned home, you still have to go out and about. Just seems like my appetite is just not as strong right now. I normally weigh about 205 lbs, just checked, I am at 202 lbs. Yesterday at the gym, someone said to me "you look a bit thinner"?

I struggle to think who his target audience would be, maybe the same older generation that he describes whom seem to be living in the past. It's only a few weeks ago that I was on the 6 and the amount of available girls of all shapes and sizes was very impressive. 100s of them and I do mean 100s of them all hoping to snare a ST. If I was a newbie walking the 6, I would be overwhelmed and delighted with the amount of available pussy!

I know several guys in a similar situation with their wives and life. Seems they are afraid of change and continue to live in a miserable environment.

Just come back from the gym ... just had an induction as I move to a new circuit ... my eccentric weights are now 30% ( moved up from 20% ) more than the concentric movement.. the aim is to control both movements ... and eventually get to 50% difference 💪

Another great way to keep track of weather in Pattaya is the Longdo Traffic app (I've got it on Android, not sure about iOS) You can see traffic cameras all over Pattaya (and elsewhere). It overlays the radar on the map. While it was dry at my place in central Pattaya I could see heavy rain on Sukumvit and at Terminal 21 light rain

Correction, water levels were much worse April, 2020. Fortunately it was during the pandemic so we didn't have any pesky tourists drinking what little water remained.

There's supposed to be a chance of us getting some rain from tomorrow for the rest of the week. Fingers crossed!

We made it up to Bangkok today. Both the Mrs and myself have been under the weather recently, so I am not sure how much site seeing we will be doing in this heat. I do want to try the restaurant that @lazarus recommended. The main purpose for the 4 day trip is for the Mrs' visa interview at the US Embassy. We will go through her docs once again tomorrow, so that she is fresh on everything for the interview. Tuesday is the actual interview. Our agent got an early time for the interview, so we will probably hustle it over to the embassy trying for a 7:30 arrival for an 8:45 interview. According to our agent one gets a seeding number based on their arrival time. One disappointment so far. The dinner time party boats on the Chao Phraya are kicking up a bloody racket. I have stayed at the Chatrium Riverside 5 or 6 times in the past and do not recall there being an issue of this nature. I am unlikely to stay here again for this reason.

About to go to the gym, then back to shower and change. Sally is off work today so we will go and buy some flowers then go to the cemetery. Then probably lunch at the Italian restaurant by the flat.
