Popular Post Lanzalad
May I take this opportunity to welcome new members from other forums, who have recently joined this forum and also thank the existing members who have been with the forum since its early days. Thailand-247.com was created in September 2018 and since that date has grown and expanded at a fantastic rate. It is truly independent and not tied to any bar, hotel or business and there are no plans for this to change. It was created to be different and provide a fresh alternative to the existing Thailand forums and we believe that it has been successful in this respect. One of the aims was to create a forum which was entertaining, informative and friendly towards all posters. No member on here should be afraid to post their opinion on any topic. This however has to be limited by both Thai law and laws in the country where members are posting. What we have tried to avoid is animosity between members, manifesting itself often from disputes that arose on various forums many years ago. Such cliches as ‘It’s nice to be nice’ and ‘address the content of the post and not the member personally’ spring to mind. The reality is that there is no ideal forum. At one extreme some would like a forum without rules and where anything goes. At the other extreme some others would like a purist forum, with every post written in the Queen’s English and totally devoid of any humour. Neither of these exist. Thailand-247.com aims to be in the middle and hopefully cater for tastes across a wide range. Recently an announcement was made that the Secrets Forum was to be discontinued. We particularly welcome former Secrets members to join us here. I think they will find some familiar areas on Thailand-247.com that they enjoyed on Secrets. There are threads here, covering Street Photographs, What did you have for breakfast, lunch or dinner’ and ongoing threads about GoGo bars, beer bars, restaurants openings, developments and closures as well as many others. The forum adopts a ‘Best Practice’ policy where we try to incorporate the best from existing forums and other media. The forum rules are quite lengthy and were written to ensure that everyone get the most out of the forum. Whilst they are quite prescriptive in some ways in content they are not that much different from those of other forums. The guiding principles for the rules were as follows. Media is very strictly controlled in Thailand; we are aware the authorities monitor forums and other media and due to this it becomes important to follow Thai law. The law in UK relating to media, both social and professional is gradually being tightened as indeed is copyright legislation throughout Europe and as a small forum any litigation against the forum would effectively close it down. We want members, both old and new to feel part of Thailand-247.com and not be afraid to post. There will be no groups or cliques and no members will be bullied or be allowed to bully others. The majority of members previously posted on The Live and Secrets forum. Our success will be judged on integrating everyone into being 247 members. There must be no them and us. I mentioned ‘Best Practice‘ earlier. A good example of this is the way Thailand-247.com uses clubs and in particular the politics club. Some members love to discuss politics and others hate them. For those that like them they can join the politics club and they will see the political threads in the new contents. Non members of the politics club will not see the political threads in the new contents section. Finally many thanks to all members, new and old, for joining and participating in Thailand-247.com ? As a forum I believe we have a higher percentage of members who actually post than most other forums. Many thanks gents. 7 2

Popular Post Krapow
Yea, being honest, it's great to see how far and how big this wee forum has become in such a short time. It shows that vast majority of people just want a friendly place to post, share info, humour, experiences etc, about our one common denominator, as plenty had already migrated here even before the Secrets announcement. Integration into the big happy 24/7 family is indeed key and hopefully it's onwards and upwards for all posting on the forum, now and future. 4
