I can't get my head around the common practise here of fitting bicycle size wheels / tyres on motorised bikes ???

My Mrs. tells me that she recalls from her youth and the 'fashion' first started that she hated to ride on them as the tyres had to be pumped up so hard to deal with the weight of the bike + passengers that it made for a very hard ride, even more-so if they also had the very shallow seat fitted too, as the above....

So are these.

And just about every other Triumph.

Production for a lot of manufacturers is moving to Asian countries these days. KTM has some models built in India for example.

Build quality has improved a lot in recent years, especially regarding China whose bikes always had a reputation for poor quality.

Just to be clear I wasn't saying ir was a bad thing, just pointing it out. Although my present bike is a "made in England" 1996 900 triumph Sprint, I would quite happily buy a Thai made Street Twin or Speed Twin.

A few years after Triumph started up in Chonburi I priced a bike in Australia, and then at a dealer in Thailand... It was a lot cheaper in oz!

Same thing comparing the prices in the UK Bigg's, even for Thai built models.....

Saw this interesting and tastefully done special on FB the other day - Benelli "Sei" (six) motor in Norton featherbed frame:

So is it a Norben or a Norelli?

Or an Ellinor?
