CampariO
Here you can find part 1 (Kanchanaburi) of our road trip which we enjoyed during March/April 2021: Part 1 In part 2 you can join our trip to Krabi, Ao Nang, Koh Phi Phi, Phuket, Koh Lanta, James Bond islands and Khao Lak. Krabi: we booked a bungalow in the Ban Sainai Resort, a bit far from the beach, but we liked it a lot. Large bungalows and a big pool with a great view to the rock. CampariO
Not only the hotel but the whole city of Krabi we had almost to ourselves. We took kour dinner in the Diver's Inn Steak House, highly recommended. 1
CampariO
The bars were empty but the night clubs filled later in the night with the younger local folks. Next morning breakfast with lake view in our resort: Edited September 25, 2021 by CampariO 3
Jambo
Very nice. Excellent photos which appear exceptionally clear and sharp to me. I don't know if that is because I am viewing them on my TV or you have a really great camera or maybe both. 1

Thanks Jambo, the pics were taken partially with a Canon 700D which is not too bad or with my Realme 6 phone which is not too bad for the 230 € I paid for. CampariO
Next stop Bamboo island and a bit of snorkeling at another island. Then watching the monkeys taking a dive for the food thrown into the water. Edited September 25, 2021 by CampariO 1
CampariO
Koh Phi Phi used to be a beautiful island some 20 years ago you could call paradise. Nowadays it is full of concrete, McDonalds, Starbucks, Burger King. Why, oh why, who needs that shit. Still a nice island but it will be my last visit. Can't imagine how it is/was during highseason without Covid. Edited September 25, 2021 by CampariO

I have always believed that photos bring forums to life and are infinitely more uplifting than the written word. It has taken up to today to realise how much the enjoyment is enhanced by viewing them on a full sized TV screen. I usually log in using my laptop and only occasionally on my TV. I never realised what I was missing. 1
CampariO
We stayed for one night only as the waves were high the next day and the place was deserted.
Horizondave
Love the Krabi area; have stayed twice in Ao Nang and once at Tubkek beach. Did the trip a couple years back to Phi Phi, not nice since they have added McDonald to its culinary outlets. Luckily went to Phi Phi before the Tsunami when it was really idyllic. Thanks for posting.
CampariO
After a round trip on the island we left for Phuket. At least a couple of bars were open. LD's were over 200 Bt. 🤪 2
CampariO
Patong beach was deserted, so were the other beaches. 1 1
CampariO
There was a small night market at Patong beach and a bit of entertainment. 😍
CampariO
Our journey was nearing its end. On the way back we chartered a long tail boat for a trip to the James Bond island.
CampariO
We stayed 2 nights in Khao Lak which became renown after the Tsunami. The Hotel Bhandari Khao Lak costs usually 170 € a night, we just paid 35 €.
CampariO
Unfortunately it didn't have any mosquito netting in the rooms and we had a restless night, despite the staff providing sprays and repellants. The beaches were deserted.
CampariO
Our final night of the trip we spent in Hua Hin. Again among people.
CampariO
This is the end. 😢 Don't worry, our next trip will come soon: this time we will explore Petchabun for a couple of nights. Plenty things to see. I hope you enjoyed the pics as much as we enjoyed the trip. Thanks for for all the likes and comments. 5 1
roomark
Very nice pictures Phi Phi was OK up until The Tsunami when they began rebuilding they never seemed to stop , same in Phuket in many places especially Patong. Saying that I can't wait to get back it's horrible seeing Patong like that , but Krabi and Phi Phi would be ideal (for the sea , diving and snorkelling) Cheers
lazarus
Thanks for the TR & pics. Good to see the Andaman Sea again. I lived in the south for three years '06-'09 (Koh Lanta) and know well all the places you visited. Edited September 25, 2021 by lazarus
