lazarus
Stupid jet tricks..? . . . JetBlue plane tilts back while unloading at JFK Airport, no injuries reported https://edition.cnn.com/travel/article/jetblue-plane-tipped-jfk/index.html A JetBlue passenger jet lost its balance and tipped like a seesaw while unloading Sunday at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport, according to the airline. “Once at the gate, due to a shift in weight and balance during deplaning, the tail of the aircraft tipped backward causing the nose of the aircraft to lift up and eventually return back down,” JetBlue told CNN. Nobody was injured in the incident, JetBlue Airways said. The aircraft’s nose in the air and front landing gear are seen hanging while the plane is parked at a jet bridge, in video posted online. At least one opened cargo door in the front half of the plane can be seen. JetBlue is “reviewing this incident” and the plane will be inspected before flying again, the airline said... . . . 1

It can happen a lot. Some commuter airplanes have a rod they put under the tail to stop that from happening.

lazarus
Don't drink that water... . . . Lawsuit Accuses Half Moon Bay Ritz-Carlton of Shocking Incident Involving Semen-Laced Water https://sfist.com/2023/10/28/lawsuit-alleges-shocking-incident-involving-semen-contaminated-water-at-the-ritz-carlton-in-half-moon-bay/ In a wild lawsuit, a Washington State woman is accusing The Ritz-Carlton and its parent company, Marriott, of negligence and sexual assault regarding an experience in which she allegedly was served a drink that had been contaminated with semen. The woman, referred to as Jane Doe in the lawsuit filed this month in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, and her husband were staying at the five-star luxury hotel for four days to celebrate her birthday last year, per KRON4. She reportedly claims that an employee there ejaculated into a hotel-branded water bottle and delivered it to the couple's room, where she drank it. According to the lawsuit, based on the “taste” and “texture” of the contents, she realized “it had been defiled by a criminal deviant and that she had been sexually assaulted.” Both her and her husband then reportedly contacted the hotel's management and local law enforcement. In an attempt to address the incident, The Ritz-Carlton sent the water bottle in question to a laboratory for testing, as noted in the lawsuit. The results apparently confirmed the presence of semen, but the company refused to provide a copy of the lab test results to the couple and their doctors... . . .

lazarus
$23,500 in Coins to Pay a Settlement? Judge Says Keep the Change and Try Again A Colorado judge ordered a welding company to use a check or other conventional method to pay a settlement after it tried to deliver 6,500 pounds in coins. https://www.nytimes.com/2023/10/30/us/coins-lawsuit-payment-colorado.html?unlocked_article_code=1.6kw.PQ1T.-nM7-9aszziH&smid=url-share Pennies, nickels, dimes and quarters might be legal tender but more than 6,500 pounds of loose change is not a proper form of payment, a Colorado judge ruled last week after a defendant attempted to deliver $23,500 in coins to settle a legal dispute. The judge, Joseph Findley, of Larimer County, said that the delivery of more than three tons was done “maliciously and in bad faith,” and that the defendant, a welding company, must now pay more for its act. The welding company, JMF Enterprises LLC, and its owner John Frank, were sued by a custom fabrication company, Fired Up Fabrication LLC, which said it worked as a subcontractor for JMF Enterprises but did not get paid in full. The companies agreed in mediation to the settlement but the agreement did not specify the form of payment, according to Judge Findley’s order...

fygjam
In Australia the Currency Act specifies the maximum amount of coins and lower denomination notes that are considered legal tender. I would expect other countries to have similar legislation. 2

forqalso
I’d have him stand there while it was slowly counted, allow the person counting extra long lunch and breaks, then at closing time tell him to take it home as we can’t be responsible for storing uncounted funds. Utah Man Disgusted After Drinking 'Warm Urine' Delivery Driver Gave Him Instead Of Milkshake Caleb Wood got a surprise when he ordered fries and a milkshake from Chick-fil-A through GrubHub and discovered upon taking a sip that it was instead 'warm urine.' https://www.comicsands.com/utah-man-urine-delivery-driver-2666135818.html Wood recalled: “When I started eating my meal upon delivery, I put a straw in my cup that was delivered and took a sip." However, it didn't take long for him to realize that it was not what he ordered. It was a lot worse. “I soon discovered that the cup delivered to me from the GrubHub driver was a warm cup of urine," he recalled. . . .
forcebwithu
^^^ Another very suspicious drink story. Would have been it bit more believable if the drink ordered was closer to the consistency and color of urine. But a milkshake, come on, how could you not tell right away the drink was not what you ordered.
