Had to go to our favourite Turkish restaurant after the stress of organising a coming 7 year old's birthday party 😂 

Fucking lovely it was as well, lamb Beyti, Sea Bream, and chips for said 6 year old.

What cost of living, not in this wee restaurant. We had our mains and about 6 or 7 sides that come with it, cucumber yogurt salad, hummus, 2 baskets of Turkish bread, main salad, two different types of onion salad, one being with the pomegranate sauce which I love. 

All for £40.50! 

Unbelievable value, nevermind it being London. Only thing is, the hummus, yogurt and 1st basket of Turkish bread has you half full up by the time the main meal comes. Never fear, Mrs Krapow always asks for the takeaway dish lol.

I just cooked a batch of my version of stir fry prawns, mixed vegetables and rice.  Far too much for me in one go, so I put it in plastic containers and freeze it until needed.

I love hummus & the bread but as you say you can easily be stuffed by the time of the main course.

Up at 0630 today for a trip in my MB to the indie who services it.Had the engine management light come on so he plugged his computer into it & it's the air pump not working.

Didn't know it had an air pump but it pumps hot air to the cats and costs £800 for a new one🤨.

Fucking emissions shite.

Waiting for high tide to Dock in aberdeen Harbour for about 10 hours,crew change,supply s,I'll get up the road for a few hours shore leave,pick up some stuff from house then back into town,quick pint and a kebab then back to boat,nice change from Holland,especially as the weather is nice.

The barista offered to carry my coffee to the table for me, and I didn't have anything else to carry. 

That surpasses being offered a seat on public transport. 😢

Got back from two nights in Poole a couple of hours ago with Jan. Any longer would have been too much for her as her treatment makes her tired really easy.

Would sit by the sea for an hour or two and share fish and chips. Then she’d need a rest at the hotel.

Rooms and trains tickets were about £530 for us but I did book it a few days before.

Main thing is we both enjoyed it and had quality time together, probably be her last long distance trip though.

Tickets went on sale today for Sleep Token at Wembley arena in December today and bought one.

They are my favorite band so will give me something positive to look forward to later in the year when I won’t be in the most positive mood.

Just picked up my car from its annual service , had a Mazda 2 hybrid as a courtesy car was ok 👍..

nothing wrong with my car it's only four and a half years old , just an oil change and various other little bits .. service cost £399.78

We couldn't get an appointment date for a visa to Finland last year before the remaining balance (bulk) of our trip to Lapland had to be paid. I've decided if i can get an appointment booked in mid July for some time mid August, then i'll do it, as we don't go to Turkey until end of October. All June's appointments will be gone by now, and i wouldn't chance an appointment even start of July incase couldn't get Passport back before we go to Thailand when the schools break up. 

Have been thinking might just call them, cancel, lose the £450 deposit. Had i knew it would be this hassle i wouldn't have booked it, i thought it would be easy like Spain. But if i can get an appointment booked for a date in August or start of September i'll try it, but if not, just write the £450 off. 

Been checking the Greek Visa Centre online appointment system everyday and about 5 times a day. Still no cancellations on any date in June.

Before I went to bed last night, I did a final check, no luck. About 4am I woke up and decided to check, it seemed that a couple of dates in early July had been released but everything was showing full. I checked again at 0900 today and it appears that they are allowing you to look to see availability on all business days from 01 July to 14 July, yet again no appointments to book, all dates are showing full.

I had been told that they would not release the July dates till mid June and here we are on 01 June and it looked like dates are being shown yet unable to be booked.

I sent an email to the GVC querying how about 800 appointments are shown unavailable but had been in the system for only about 5 hours. I just can't imagine all these visa tourists have suddenly booked them in 5 hours when I can't. I am hopeful that the system is being readied to become available at a date in mid June. An email reply is expected tomorrow and that email may determine whether or not I am going as a family or just with my daughter.

Porn is already pissed off and is not happy, in fact she is prone to not wanting to go but I have told her I will try until it becomes impossible. We have decided that if she can not get a visa, I will go with my daughter otherwise I would be losing quite a bit of money (around £750) before even starting to book another trip.

If I do go with my daughter I will be booking an alternate trip to Yorkshire dales for a week in August, somewhere my wife would love to go back to. May not be Greece but my wife is fine with the compromise.

Been to visit one of my best mates today , he is in the last stages of cancer  and has very little time left , he had little energy to even talk , very sad to see him like this ... spoke to his wife afterwards and she says the doctors are surprised he is still going , he hasn't eaten for 42 days , only liquids ... 😢

Well good news.

I sent them an email on Thursday asking what was going on with the early July dates shown, but being unavailable, I mentioned that I had checked at midnight, at 5am and 9am and all dates that were now showing (previously no July dates showing) were all booked and unavailable. I questioned how this could be when I had been told these July dates would not be released till mid July.

This morning I get an email saying thank you for your email and you are now booked on an appointment, you are now scheduled for a meeting at the Greek Visa Centre on 14 July at 1330.

Weird that my 4 emails have changed their stance that  said I needed to just look at the online booking system for a cancellation or for when the July dates become available and now getting them to schedule an appointment for Porn.

Really happy, Porn is elated and we can now relax before our holiday, a family holiday. (of course she has to get the visa)

Edit, the date of the appointment is actually 14 June, oops, plenty of time before our 24 July departure and Porn is actually off 14/15 June so a double bonus. A better date.
