Went to the RAF museum at Hendon with a mate this afternoon, looked at a few aircraft that I used to work on & pretty certain I'll have nightmares tonight😂....free entry but £7.50 for parking.

At least they didn't keep me in as an exhibit....

You just reminded me, would your good self, @Lemondropkid, @galenkia or any other board members fancy going to the Imperial War Museum?  I've been a good few times, though not for a while, and they have a special Northern Ireland 'Troubles' exhibition starting tomorrow until January.

@Derek Dangleberries could probably curate it, probably has more 'inside info' than those who put it on!

Submitted an application for Porn's Greek visa online with the Greek Visa Centre. Bloody pain but quite straight forward once you have gathered all the pertinent information. Unable to book an appointment online (some known temporary issue with their system) so had to send an email and hoping I get a reply within 48 hours (their expected reply).

Once a date is given we will have to visit the GVC near Old Street, London. That means a 3.5 hour drive to my brothers, park the car, tube to London (possible overnight in Travelodge, same as last time) and then next day back to Wales. Hopefully will get an appointment for one of Porn's days off from work (did advise her days off) but likely they will ignore our request and book an inconvenient day. Also will need to take Kataleya out of school.

Last time I sponsored Porn's visa but this time, as she is in full time employment, her application shows that she will cover her costs. I hope also that they treat her with a little bit more respect than last time when they were rude, discourteous and it felt like they were treating my wife like a hooker. Thankfully in Greece, we had one of the best holidays ever and thoughts of our experience at the GVC were forgotten.

Second from last evening on the lake in France, a few fish around where I am fishing today so hopeful for a bite tonight.

I don't drink on my last night so I am fresh for the drive home, so I may have a couple extra tonight. Can't get drunk incase I find myself out in the boat fighting a fish in the middle of the night.

I’m off work next week, though have booked Tuesday to Thursday down in Poole with my sister, so I’m up for it if you have a day planned.

Though SWR have strikes on Friday and Saturday next week.

I went there twice as a kid with my parents & lastly about 3 years ago with an old mate from the RAF,I wouldn't mind if it corresponded with a few pints but with your good self & @galenkia being TT that probably is out of the question.

Having said that on my last visit we were both pretty underwhelmed so I'd probably decline.

^^^^ Would those be considered dead fish ?

No doubt that van has come in handy for you. You must pack that thing to the gills with supplies when you go on trips.

How many coolers do you have ? Do you use dry ice ?

You must have a great system down now for planning and packing.

Not sure what you mean by dead fish.

The van is great, should of bought one years ago. It is pretty full when two of us travel together, which is most of the time.

I have a large, very high end cooler which is very efficient. Mostly the bait and a weeks supply of food goes in frozen as well as two medical grade ice packs. This keeps everything nice and cool. Often the lakes will have a freezer on site where I can rotate the ice blocks if needed. Also the local supermarkets will sell ice, or give it for free if they have an ice store.

Friday morning, relaxing with coffee, phone rings....

Hey, Painter, you remember that racing you did last weekend for us? It's a bank holiday weekend... want to run some more?

Hmm.....

We'll put enough money on.your club card for enough coffees for a month....

Oh, ok then.

I'm easily bought.

Got to the club to find one less competitor ...

Weekend's usually better for me due to work.

Maybe do it after June, so Lemons can come as well, as anyone else?

I'm definitely going, but probably do it more than once TBH.

Hope they still have the WW2 Jagdpanther Tank as you walk in.

Feeling a bit pissed off. After filling in all the forms online and submitting a visa application for Porn to travel to Greece, it now looks like there are no appointments before our holiday departure.

Every date from now till the end of June is full and despite sending an email to the Greek Visa Centre (as per their info on their website if unable to book an appointment online) they are now telling me to keep trying to see if there is a cancellation, yeh right.

The July appointment dates do not come out until middle of June, so do we stress ourselves waiting for that day when they become bookable (won't say an exact date) on the chance we might get a slot or do I start looking at Turkey (no visa needed).

The way I feel right now, I just want to go for Turkey because after talking to the Indian girl at the Greek Visa Centre helpdesk, I realised no begging or shocked attitude is going to change anything. They believe we just wait till the appointments get released and book then. I might do that but not knowing what date they are released is a pain and, even if successful, what date is that appointment going to be in relation to our 24 July departure and getting her passport back by courier.

My investment so far, is a hotel at Gatwick and the flights on British Airways so a loss of about £600, hotel accommodation and taxis can be cancelled easily for no fee.

For now I will check for cancellations on appointments but I am going to start looking at Turkey deals for similar dates.

Pissed off of Neath.
