Just got home from the gym. There was this young lady around early 20’s on the treadmill next to me. She had this bra type top on and a lovely pair of tits that were bouncing nicely as she jogged. Tried to catch a glances without being caught lol. Made for a nice workout.8 points

I also used the services of Maneerat to extend my visa exempt for 30 days on the recommendation of boydeste - I'd done it myself twice before Covid and the Russian Invasion with no real problems but this year I'd backed myself into a bit of a corner with timing - I would have had to extend on the 15th or 16th to fit in with my (also extended) departure date and of course Immigration was closed on the 12, 15, and 16 for Songkran. Boydeste told me that Maneerat could extend my visa at any time to start at the end of my visa exempt period and this is just what they did - all it took was a drive over to Jomtien Immigration for the photo, which I think they do just to prove that you were actually there in the office, and I found my own way home by choice - two days later and I am good to go. A little expensive at 4500b vs. the 1900 it would have cost me to do myself, but I simply don't have the patience to deal with the crowds in Immigration by myself any more and I consider the money well spent and will do it again next time.5 points

Fares might be even more competitive if BA decided to resume those flights daily, and from Heathrow. I don't particularly like Gatwick, and I am sure many others from north of London are not too thrilled about a Gatwick departure. Still, it is something that I was really happy to see come to fruition and it now offers a better choice for all of us.4 points

I promised myself that I would go there for my late father. On arrival I met an old chap in the Grenadier Guards kit. He claims he knew my old dad. Hard to believe. The cemeteries there (both of them) made me tear up. They were so young and came from all walks of life. How disappointed they would be today.4 points

6 weeks ago, I bought a new CD player here at one of the fancy, dancy open markets here locally. These young guys know their shit right? They speak good English too...you can imagine the look on their face when I roll up with my Honda SUV and ask them to show me some of the "CD players" they have and if one is available LOL! They didn't even laugh at me..thankfully. There were basically none on the main floor, but they had several in the back room right? This kid brings out this "Kenwood" player, tells me all about it.........OK done deal. Installed in 1 hour, 4k baht out the door.....this thing is great, all my CD's I had shipped over here work well. Was downtown at Siam Square about a month ago, they had this old school type shop located outside, across the street. This one store had a ton of used CD's...100 baht any one you wanted.......knowing what I had in my collection.....I DID NOT have "Frampton Comes Alive" I have it now......"Do you, you...feel like I do"4 points

I still have a Pioneer separates system with a CD player and occasionally I will crank it up whilst doing jobs around the house and work through some of my old CDs. It still sounds great.4 points

The site will be used for a new monument to the late King. Pattaya to erect monument honouring King Bhumibol Adulyadej, The Legendary Royal Sailor Pattaya City has unveiled plans to commemorate the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej, also known as King Rama IX, through the construction of a monument at the site of the old royal sailing club on Pattaya beach. Deputy Mayor Kritsana Boonsawat presided over a meeting highlighting the city’s dedication to preserving its cultural heritage. The inspiration behind this initiative stems from a historic event where Their Majesties King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Queen Sirikit, accompanied by the Royal Family, sailed in Pattaya Bay decades ago. This event holds immense historical and cultural significance. On April 19, 1966, at 4:28 AM, His Majesty the King personally sailed a 13-foot OK-class sailboat named “Vega” across the Gulf of Thailand, from the Klai Kungwon Royal Palace in Hua Hin, Prachuap Khiri Khan, to Toey Ngam Beach, Sattahip, Chonburi, arriving at 9:28 PM after a 17-hour journey covering 111 kilometres. His remarkable feat conquered challenging weather conditions and numerous obstacles. ...3 points

Reminds me of the time I went out to buy a new computer in the early 1990's. The PC was on sale and came with a collection of 10 CD-roms. The shop assistant pointed to a crate and said I could select the disk from there. The disks were either demos, shareware games or porn pictures from various BBS. Being a 14-16 year old hormone filled teenager I naturally chose 10 porn cd's. 😁3 points

Before jumping back into village life I sought advice from @forcebwithu and with that I decided to go ahead with the move. I had to understand why I failed in other villages first though and be sure it wasn't repeated. (the first failed because of me drinking too much Lao Khao ..the second was because of the in-laws). I am indeed a lucky man mate!!3 points

I hear all of you, it has been 100 degrees or more here in Minburi for the last 8 days. It is supposed to get even HOTTER every day as we go into next Tuesday, topping out at 104 degrees......geez and for me it seems like the humidity is down, this feels more like Las Vegas in July weather. Can't wait to get back to Calif in June.......got tickets to see John Waite, Foreigner & Styx and see some Baseball you know?3 points

From the video it is only evident that the white car hit the Swiss man. It appears the Swiss man just drove across the road without looking and the white car assumed right of way. I can only say that, 'this is Thailand', and apportioning blame may be a difficult pursuit by the Swiss man's partner. The white car had probably been driving down that railway road alt the way from the number 7 turn off, and just was assuming he had right of way at every junction unless blocked. The only thing that would have stopped him would be if other traffic in front had come to a halt to allow other traffic across, otherwise they would just carry on driving without slowing down. That is why most of us crossing those sections, do so, with very cautious awareness. I always gave way if seeing traffic bearing down on me Just a very sad situation.3 points

I completely agree as well. I have only been using Maneerat for two years after receiving a recommendation from the late Striderman. Maneerat has their act together and are pleasant to deal with. I was even given a 1,000 discount on the initial Non-Im O application for having my paperwork all filled out and well organized. I had been on a Non-Im OA (long story), so I did a border run to kill the OA and then reapply for an O. The Mrs. went with me the last time that I went to renew my Extension of Stay and after viewing the available entertainment options on soi Post Office (13/2), gave me a suspicious look. 🙂3 points

I agree 100% about Maneerat.....Not only are they super nice but they get the job done...They know their stuff...No BS ever.....I have been using them for about 10 years now.....I will be sticking with them for a looooog time to come... They do a smashing business there.... One time I saw a box they had all the passports in.....There had to of been close to 200 passports in the box....And that was just on that one day....Plus they operate with minimal overhead costs unlike a bar or restaurant.... They deserve to do good they do a great job and take care of the customers...3 points

Seems to be required, whichever renewal method is used (I'm sure the same for all other agents), that a visit to immigration for that pic is necessary. But as you say, it's quick. I always walk in the exit, usually a security guy there and when he sees your yellow tab he takes you to desk 8. In and out, no waiting. I concur about Maneerat, they're excellent and do remember people.3 points

I have to admit that as a farang I try to order my coffee in fluent Thai. Mrs TT says it is correct but the look on the face of ghe girls face tells me she has no clue. They generally turn to Mrs TT and try to converse with her which irritates me greatly. I have on occasion asked the girls colleagues if she is Thai and understands Thai, in Thai. Seems to do the trick.2 points

I remember it well. They also served very good cocktails in the Malibu Bar. My memory of the place is sitting , watching the show with my Scottish mate Ray (nickname Romeo - he was a male model! )drinking cocktails like a couple of "swells" as he put it. Brilliant days they were.2 points

Can't see that as a problem. Last year I renewed my DL in Hua Hin but the previous one I had issued in Khon Kaen. The driving licence centre will give you a renewal as long as you have a residence certificate for the province you are renewing your licence. They should not be concerned as long as you have all the necessary documentation. Maybe immigration would ask why you are renewing in Korat if you are still registered as living in Pattaya. If you have moved to Korat you should just register your address with immigration as soon as you move in. When you go back to immigration to get a residence certificate, they will note that you have a visa, but now you are living in Korat and registered, should be OK.2 points

Cheers mate. The last time I did it was a breeze. Drove down there in A/C with a couple of blokes shooting the sh*t. Stopped for a coffee, the lass went it, 5 minutes later we walked in pleastanly, everybody smiling... out the door into the van less than 5 minutes later.2 points

I think, during Covid, many expats stepped up to help Thais who were seriously affected by lack of food and shelter. The pictures of queues for food and water were more than evident at the time. A lot of money was raised. You wouldn't know it now that just a couple of years ago, Pattaya was almost a ghost town For tourists, like myself, I rarely get to meet Thais, not associated with the tourist industry, but its a lot different for those for expat farangs, many who put back, into the place which they have made their home. I reckon most of us are good farangs in the sense that we behave respectfully and peacefully toward the country and people we are visiting and I seldom see any colonial type attitudes these days. Pattaya and other tourist areas are a bubble, and do not represent Thailand as a whole. Those of us who have travelled around the country and spent any time in villages and typical 3towns will know that. But for some, they only the tourist side behave like they might in Benidorm or Ibiza. They come and go and often behave like animals. But in my opinion, they are few and far a very small minority. We should not forget that the main reason for Thais coming to work in places like Pattaya and leaving their homes and families is due to poverty and a chance of employment that they might not get elsewhere, particularly if poorly educated and unskilled. Indirectly, we are all helping toward the economy and the welfare of Thai families from places far and wide, while having fun and relaxation. Sure it may feel sometimes that we are walking wallets, but everything balances out. I am sure that for most bar girls, shagging Western tourists for money, would have been their first choice of employment if there were other opportunities, and there is pressure from their families and the needs of their children to send money home. Once part of the entertainment industry, its hard to leave, and there is not the kind of welfare systems that we enjoy in the West. As in the first post, it's easy to identify bad farangs but overlook the mostly good and unnoticed Thailand often penned as the land of smiles but I often see beyond the smile on girls faces, who playact night after night to please us, but are constantly thinking about their families back home and the worries they have and we don't see. We can just walk away at the end of holiday, but not so easy for them2 points
