8 1/2 years married to wifey here..... My first wife was quite frankly, very cool as a general rule. Law School Graduate, corporate Attorney for Lockheed. We certainly fitted in the category of " we just grew apart" We had different ideas of how life was going to look later....she wanted to sell the house in San Jose, Calif and move to central Calif...I didn't...she liked San Luis Obispo.....I didn't.....it was the beginning of the end. Marriage counseling was good, no finger pointing, just telling the "shrink" how we both felt and she helped alot but.............at the end of the day she said to both of us " there is only 1 reason to stay married to each other, and that is do you still truly love each other"? Good narrative.. We were both smart enough to figure out that if we both go out and get attorney's etc...it is going to cost a bundle. We both acted like adults, figured out after 15 years of marriage what was fair to both of us, my kids college etc and it all worked out. We are still friends today and I see her when I go back to Calif...I got the house and she got a "lump sum" payout from me and we were both happy. Luckily, I knew that I was not going to sit around and be miserable the rest of my life, and kept in touch with wifey whom I met back in 1999, when we hired her here in an office we opened in BKK. That was a wise decision to keep in touch with her. Told her in 2003 sadly I was getting divorced, she told me to work on saving my marriage but...if it does not work out, then do what is right for you. 2005 the divorce is final, I came back here to Bangkok, called her up and asked her if she wanted to meet me for dinner right? She said "Yes, I will make the plans and come to your hotel" Damm..I was impressed, she took me to a dinner cruise on the Chaophraya River.....and the rest as they say..is history. After that evening, I think we both knew, this will no longer be a " business relationship" That night after our date, I told her she could stay at my hotel with me on Silom right? To this day I will never forget her response "Yeah, you wish" No regrets about Rachanee..she has been everything I wanted and more. And....she can throw a football and likes to have fun.12 points

Many are afraid financially if they split with their wife, despite being desperately unhappy. I remember 20 years ago when my farang wife and I split up. I was unhappy for years, but hung around for the kids. Then I found Thailand, the rest, they say, is history. I remember having a few beers at the 19th one day with 7 other guys who'd been part of our group. The vast majority were unhappily married. When I told them I'd split with my wife, they were flabbergasted. I said I'd had enough and that I'm going to enjoy the rest of my life. Pretty much all of them envied me, told me I was "brave" and they all wanted to know how it would affect me financially. I gave my wife the house and her car, kept on paying for stuff on top of that for a good few years until she was settled and over it. Sure, it cost me a fortune, but it was so worth it. All these guys wanted to do what I'd done, but didn't have the balls . . .11 points

I went for a walk down Soi 6 recently and saw plenty of potential replacements for the Michelin man. Never seen so many size 16s wearing a size 10 dress. I had PTSD by the time I got to second rd.9 points

I don’t really suffer from stress so much, depression was my main problem. Was eventually diagnosed as bipolar or manic depressive as it used to be called. Had a mental breakdown two days after burying my sister and ended up being sectioned under the mental health act for 10 days. But now I feel okay mentally.8 points

It's been too long since my last update here, so this morning got up early to get a ride in around Mabprachan before the heat of the day kicks in. In a nutshell, last time I saw the reservoir this low at this time of year was during the drought of 2015. Sure hope rainy season is good to us this year otherwise we're probably looking at water rationing later in the year.8 points

My stress almost disappeared when I quite literally told my (prick ) boss to shove his job where the sun don't shine ( 6 weeks ago) I had to come back the next week to pass on a few ongoing projects He showed his true colors and had a leaving lunch paid by the company but didn't invite me or my team Many Many of the employees came and saw me after and all said what a sick @@##@# he was even the ceo ( was originally from a maintenance trade)came and diplomatically said that was a shit show Now I sit by the pool at hotel on soi lenkee and worry about what should I have for lunch and decide if I should visit that lbfm that was giving me the I need you look8 points

Brilliant result for Ipswich. Town is in full on party mode I had my TXU Energi Town shirt on today watching the game in the Pub. Ipswich was absolutely rammed this morning, blue shirts everywhere - Princes Street opposite Portman Rd was awash with blue smoke and shirts, a really good atmosphere in the Town, the likes of which I've not really felt since the heady days of the FA Cup Win and UEFA Cup wins back in the glory days. @Krapow - don't forget Arnold Muhren and Franz Thysen - 2 great players from the land of the cloggies. Kevin Beattie as well who used to enjoy one or two beers in the pub we lived near to back then. Couple of pics, one taken by a potato and one of the Pub (Cricketers on Crown St) Great result, great game and both crowds very well behaved, a really good day out for the families as well. Gonna be a few sore heads in the morning.8 points

^^^ Edited to add: I wonder what YT algorithm decided the above Skittles "Newlyweds" ad was age-restricted, but the Mastercard BJ ad passed the AI censorship.8 points

I struggle to think who his target audience would be, maybe the same older generation that he describes whom seem to be living in the past. It's only a few weeks ago that I was on the 6 and the amount of available girls of all shapes and sizes was very impressive. 100s of them and I do mean 100s of them all hoping to snare a ST. If I was a newbie walking the 6, I would be overwhelmed and delighted with the amount of available pussy!7 points

Problem with living alone, as many know, is lots of food comes in packs for couples or families..... so the brioche rolls I bought came in a 4 pack, and as two were consumed yesterday, there were two more sitting staring at me. Yes, I could have thrown them in the freezer, but that is already full of other goodies... The fridge had some mince, onions, Tommy k and cheese in.... so....7 points
