Popular Post forcebwithu
Checked out a couple of Tree Town bars with live music last night. First stop was Area 52 Bar which had a decent cover band playing the usual repertoire of old, but good music. Unfortunately I had to sit off to the side to enjoy the music as across from the bar is Lucky 7 Bar which was playing rap music at full volume. It was interesting to note that while Area 52 had a a decent crowd of customers, Lucky 7 was mostly empty. Next stop was Nonnoi Bar. IIRC, the band playing there is the same one that played at the now defunct Thanya Club. They're an excellent band, but unfortunately their music was spoiled by the Thai party music coming from the bar next door. Because of that I only stayed long enough to quickly finish my beer. I had in my mind to stop in at Danny's Sports Bar, but quickly abandoned that idea when I saw a v-logger had set up camp with about 70% of the bar and their customers in the background. I don't like to sound like a cranky old git, but I wonder how anyone can enjoy music when bars opposite or nearby are playing wildly different types of music at a volume that washes out each other's music. Add to that bar owners that allow v-loggers on their premises. Granted they're getting free publicity, but is it worth the cost of driving feet on the ground customers away. 7 2

Nothing better when you get a good band laying the old classics,as for rap crap well it speaks volumes lucky 7 was empty, dont think even younger guys want to hear that rap crap, maybe the odd one you sometimes see mimicking how a black rapper dresses[hes prob a weirdo anyway at home] but most want the old classics you can sing along too. When the clubs started to play rap crap years ago in pattaya it was time to move on,not a cranky old git its common sense who wants their ears destroyed from all directions when your trying to enjoy good music.👍 Edited June 12, 2022 by Phantom51red 4

Popular Post cartoonman
Ricky was Fantastic - I met up with him Years ago when he had a Bar in NANA PLAZA - I took a Few Snooker English Players that were playing in Bangkok to his Bar - He was a Great Host and opened their eyes to life in Bangkok - (as they were to scared to leave the Hotel they were playing in..) .They had a brilliant night. Next time I bumped into Ricky he was thinking about moving down to Pattaya - but he wanted a Condo - Looking over the Sea - near Walking Street..I found him a place and he`s been there ever since. Then he 'took on' Walking Street - he was Manager to about 10 Go-Go`s and all his places had GREAT SHOWS - He was "Stabbed in the Back " by a Few of his 'Bosses' but he came out alive and kicking a got his own place in L.K.Metro..Which he was a 'Pig in Shit' in...It was Perfect for him....But alas his health is causing him problems and it`s time for him to 'Sit back and take things easy '... But that`s not his STYLE...Watch this Space...Thanks Ricky - You were the Best... 8
Popular Post Butch
Ricky is a top bloke and made a success of Pandora's despite difficulties. One of the best managers I've seen in Pattaya in a long time, always has time to chat, knows what Customers want and how to run a successful bar. He's been knifed in the back more times than Julius Caesar. I know he's had and continues to have health issues. He's hardly a perfect example of healthy living, but I really hope that during break he is having, he manages to regain his health and enjoy the fruits of his labours. He deserves every success, he deserves to finally relax and hopefully we'll see him around town occasionally and be able to say "Hi" for a good few years to come. 9 1

I first made that comment at least 15 years or more ago and always felt guilty if not doing so on a night on the town. I just liked the guy and always found him interesting company. I will never forget sitting with him when two girls walked into B B Dolls looking for their first ever ( so they said) job as dancers and Ricky carried out a job interview at the table nearest the bar. Having explained the difference in pay for going topless or full frontal they were required to undergo a suitability appraisal. "Can you both dance?" Yes, was readily accepted without comment. "Okay, show me your tits." They both enthusiastically obliged and with me nodding away as Ricky confirmed approval. Unfortunately, one of them failed the "need you to drop your jeans" final inspection but accepted dancing in a B B Dolls wee skirt. Both wanted to start that night and were passed to the mamasan for final kitting out. The interview concluded with the mamasan rushing out to the 7eleven a few minutes later and returning with a can of shaving foam and a disposable razor. I know that happened because on her return she showed the items to Ricky along with the receipt for reimbursement. No doubt a suitable entry was made in the sundries section of the safe log. Only in Thailand! I wisk Ricky well. 7 1 8

Popular Post forcebwithu
A look at some of the new bars on Soi Pothole. At the top of the soi is a new bar and massage shop. What was Orange Bar is now X Club. What was a LB massage shop is now... Wanwaan, which used to be where Lisa Bar is now, has moved closer to the Buakhao end. And on the opposite side of the soi a massage shop is now a bar in the evenings. And Linda Bar is now... On Buakhao, what once was Endless is getting a refit. 8 2

nampla69
Baz's post above got me thinking ..... always a bad idea. Is there anything similar to the old Secrets in Pattaya these days where you can pop down for a toasted ham and cheese sandwich, sit with delightful company watching music videos or sports and then pop back upstairs with some hot toasted crumpets !!!!! I don't know of any recently ..... anyone ???
