duh.... When you can rent as cheaply as buying, why buy ? Especially at that age. If you set things up properly you can still "take care" of them as they take care of you - without going through the bullshit "marriage" game.4 points

Same for me, 76 now and ten years together. She will be very well provided for. No divorce here in the Philippines anyway and the 'annulment' is just a scam for the lawyers and the church hierarchy.2 points

Yesterday we started early (just like everyday) and somehow landed at the garden center a half hour before they opened. To kill some time took a walk along Bayshore Ave., just off the Interstate. I've probably passed by the Silver Crest Donut shop 500 times in a car and never stopped in. Sensing something out of another time we went in to check it out; felt like a faded David Lynch movie with no customers so didn't eat; bought Carlos a $3 Coke in a glass bottle, and wandered on. Somebody was living in their bus on the street outside and there were a number of obvious other "campers." Made it back to the garden center just as the gate opened, bought some bags of dirt and good shit, and headed back to project.2 points

As an aside. Who do you think wrote the laws that haven't been broken? Joe Blow from the High Street or the person with a few squillion to protect. Scan the Panama or Paradise papers and see how many of your neighbours you can find compared to politicians (or their partners etc) or business tycoons with their offshore tax haven trusts.2 points

This is being leaked by Boris 5555 and Tory apologists are searching for excuses , anyone who is supporting Sunak is either a non dom newspaper baron with billions hidden away or a complete mug ๐2 points

I understand, yea. I will be applying for ours start of May, gives nearly 4 weeks, should be plenty of time and it'll hopefully be not as clunky by then. You also can get people to do it for you for a fee as well, if you're not confident it doing it, or you need it in a hurry. These people are well involved in the whole Thailand Pass stuff, and have loads of great recommendations. https://asq.in.th/thailand-pass?tpOpen=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIspSBstyE9wIVBuvtCh0NrglhEAAYASAAEgK76fD_BwE2 points

Things are constantly changing, and will change again by the time you go, i'm also going end of May. The thread below is best to keep an eye on and all the 'latest requirements' get posted in there, specifically the last few pages ongoing, as things will have changed since it was first started. . My guess for when you go, and it is only a guess, is you'll still need to do the Thai Pass, but it will be an ATK/LFT on arrival at the airport in Bangkok, or if you choose to do at a hotel for example. Just keep checking the thread below, i'm holding off on booking a test and go hotel and doing the Thai Pass until there is clarity on what will be required from May, hopefully no hotel test and go PCR requirement.2 points

lol...the deflection again... this time with the old " word smithing" line.....lol Actually I pay tax..... Federal and State and Local tax in 2 States and 1 Territory. I will have to look into this personal letter you claim is sent to every taxpayer that explain where their personal tax dollar was spent. cheers2 points

Yep... There are guys I know who went to the range constantly. I limited it to qualification and occassional "special" training. Over 35 years of it, I am glad I limited the number of times. I am sure there a lot of guys who are regreting it now. Lot of hazards - from flying hot brass, to hearing loss. Also exposure to cleaning agents and gun powder. Not to mention a negligent discharge. I once had to work a case were some rookie in basic training accidently discharged a round into a guy standing next to him when she was cleaning her piece. Jesus Christ ! That was nasty !1 point

I sold self employed pension arrangements to five of the stall holders in Ridley Road Market during my first year representing Sun Life Assurance Soc. My area started at Stamford Hill and basically covered the whole of the East End of London. I was the 22 year old "new boy" given theoretically the worst area in London but I loved it opening a whole new world to me including Pubs in Hackney that locked you in at 1 o'clock on Fridays when the "entertainment" started.1 point

You're right. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Evidence based rational explanations are no counter for irrational beliefs! And I did have a chuckle over the claim I wonder if it occurred to those doing some of the original research on mRNA back in the 70s that their work would be required to combat a pandemic 50 years later.1 point
