  3. Next evening we had some seafood: whinged bean salad with shrimps, Pla kapong nueng manao and omlette with crab. Washed down with a Riesling. The wine was served from the restaurant next door, called The wave. Opened some 9 month ago, the food pics on their web site looked awesome, will try it on my next visit. Cocktails were great, Gin tonic and a Daiquiri: We enjoyed the trip, but 2 nights were more than enough.

  4. I followed a recipe from the 1600s for "Boiled Chicken and Cherries." Not the prettiest dish I've made- the juice from the cherries gave the sauce and chicken an odd color- but it had a very interesting taste. Chicken thighs were boiled in broth and white wine with thyme, parsley, marjoram and rose water (!) as the seasonings. The thighs were removed from the cooking liquid and the sauce was made by adding cherries and beaten eggs, then boiled until the sauce thicken. The chicken was shredded and went back into the sauce. The flavors were allowed to meld for an hour. The chicken and cherries were served like they would have been in the 1600s- on pieces of bread. I used a hearty ciabatta. It's not a dish I'll make often, but it was different and tasted good. Evil

  11. A mate sneaked out of work this afternoon to suck all the green slime blocking my Aircon drainage pipe. A bottle of Lao Khao and a few verses of "Marching on Together" was all he wanted in payment!!

  17. The Mechanic and The Cardiologist A Lexus mechanic was removing a cylinder head from the motor of a LS460 when he spotted a well known cardiologist in his shop. The cardiologist was there waiting for the service manager to come and take a look at his car when the mechanic shouted across the garage, "Hey Doc, want to take a look at this?" The cardiologist, a bit surprised, walked over to where the mechanic was working. The mechanic straightened up, wiped his hands on a rag and asked, "So Doc, look at this engine. I opened its heart, took the valves out, repaired or replaced anything damaged, and then put everything back in, and when I finished, it worked just like new. So how is it that I make $48,000 a year and you make $1.7M, when you and I are doing basically the same work?" The cardiologist paused, leaned over, and then whispered to the mechanic....... "Try doing it with the engine running.”

  18. On the other hand you could come to our house and see (and listen) the unit in action. You just have to promise to stay away from my black label, not to touch the fridge and don't rape the neighbours bull dog again.

  20. On the darkside, a big chunk of land off of Soi Nern Plub Wan across from Soi 22 is being developed. No signs as to what's going in. With the mosquito breeding grounds, excuse me, water features, perhaps a park? And on the brightside, the road to Dany's Sports Bar should be completed by end of day.

  24. I sold self employed pension arrangements to five of the stall holders in Ridley Road Market during my first year representing Sun Life Assurance Soc. My area started at Stamford Hill and basically covered the whole of the East End of London. I was the 22 year old "new boy" given theoretically the worst area in London but I loved it opening a whole new world to me including Pubs in Hackney that locked you in at 1 o'clock on Fridays when the "entertainment" started.

  27. Not the main topic of the video but Assienda up for sale around 9 mins 40. Looking for circa 1 million Baht, so around £23k. Doesn't seem like much of a return for all the work he appears to have put into it- not an easy way to make money

  29. Same same the Naklua seafood market that developed from an excellent place to buy seafood to a tourist attraction! Having said that , it was an excellent place to buy spuds years ago before Big C, Tesco Lotus and Makro hit Isaan..!

  30. Yep, the space is now fully utilized for additional seating. In fairness to New Plaza, I don't think it was ever intended as a footpath. That plus I'm pretty sure the road on either side is privately owned, so they're free to use the space however they see fit.

  32. Things are constantly changing, and will change again by the time you go, i'm also going end of May. The thread below is best to keep an eye on and all the 'latest requirements' get posted in there, specifically the last few pages ongoing, as things will have changed since it was first started. . My guess for when you go, and it is only a guess, is you'll still need to do the Thai Pass, but it will be an ATK/LFT on arrival at the airport in Bangkok, or if you choose to do at a hotel for example. Just keep checking the thread below, i'm holding off on booking a test and go hotel and doing the Thai Pass until there is clarity on what will be required from May, hopefully no hotel test and go PCR requirement.

  33. She paid £30,000 a year for non-dom status to save paying £20m in U.K. tax ... the non-dom status is dodgy because it suggests that the U.K. isn't her permanent home ... that doesn't square her husband being Chancellor as well as his ambition to be PM ... magic money tree 5555 where do you think Sunak got the money from to assist during Covid , he borrowed it .... as for keeping an eye on the public purse , they have spaffed away billions in dodgy PPE deals with their mates and billions written off in fraudulent claims with companies like his wife's ...

  37. Think Khaosod English writers need to work on their English. The damage is consistent with the car sideswiping a guard rail and spinning multiple times, but overturning, no damage to the roof would indicate otherwise.
