  1. Out in the garden inspecting the damage caused to my shed by my neighbours fallen tree ( not much but he wants to sort it out), and over flew a hot air balloon. We get loads here in Bristol as it’s home to the makers Cameron Balloons.

  3. On my trip to UK Pre Covid I stayed in the local Travelodge.. After spending the first Friday afternoon on the lash with my sons they carried me back to my room. When I woke up I was totally disoriented so bunged the telly on.. It happened to be CH4 and Naked Attraction that was on..!! A row of naked women in front of a man choosing which one he wanted to date!! So I stuck with it until the next contestant came on. He was bisexual and was choosing from naked men and women. When asked about the size of penis he liked, he replied with a line I will never forget ...and never use.. "If it fits in me gob it'll fit in me bum"

  4. Another dreary wet autumn morning here at 4C - I wish it would dry up for a few days so I can get some yard work done - today will probably just turn into a pub day but at least I won't have to work for a while.

  6. Just had my flu jab at a walk in pharmacy local to me. Got lucky as they only had 4 left in the fridge for under 60s. Didn't realise it was a different jab for over 60s. Covid booster booked for next week, so getting all my ducks in a row before looking at my Winter travels.

  8. Nope, just a five week break at this time - I was originally booked for a three week vacation to the Dominican Republic but ended up cancelling that for various reasons; however, I am still taking the time off because I need a break but will probably return to work for November and December before leaving for Thailand again in January.

  10. He's not that way inclined Joe. He dotes on her and using his own words " trusts her 1 million %". That could be a cover up of course. He may have thought deep down that somethings not right but if true he's kept it to himself. The problem is that we live in a small town and there are people here that know the truth. Not many but enough.

  13. 5% are the highest U.K. savings rates I've seen .. if we use an exchange rate of 44.00 THB 800,000 = £18,181.82 £18,181.82 @ 5% = £909.09 interest for one year If you earn 2% on your THB 800,000 that's THB 16,000 interest or £363.64 so a opportunity cost of £545.45 Cost of agency to do visa without regular income or money in the bank THB 18,000 = £409.09 ( I'm not sure if it's correct but that's what I think I read ) so if my figures are correct it's only costing you around £136.36 or THB 6,000 over a year ... so not sure it's worth it to not be fully compliant with the visa rules

  16. Can you really consider a one/off show paying tribute to one of the greatest groups of all time a "cover version". I think not.

  24. For a newly built road, it is a bit of a disgrace. Look at it after we've had some rain: if you are a pedestrian, you have to navigate your way around the pools of water (and take care that you don't walk out in front of a moving vehicle). I have renamed it Klong 15!

  25. After queuing for days to get your new iPhone 15 with the totally new oval shaped charging and data port, these are the lemmings in Sydney, what to do with it. One person had the right idea. Now say three times in your best basso profondo voice then go outside to play.

  29. Ooo-maa-mee Most cheeses are fermented and the longer they ferment the drier they become. As this process works, the umami content is created. Chef Joe Baird, cheese expert for Real California Milk explained, “Aged cheeses tend to have the most-savory umami flavor because of enzymatic breakdown of milk proteins into amino acids. In cheese, glutamate is the main amino acid that creates those umami flavors,” he said. Mushrooms are high in natural flavor-enhancing glutamate. The Glutamate Association estimates that mushrooms contain about 180 milligrams of free glutamate per 100-gram serving. Shiitake and enoki mushrooms are the richest in glutamate. But all mushrooms impart a savory, brothy or beefy flavor which is umami.

  30. Difficult situation and even a friend might well not thank you for such news however well meaning. The topic reminded me of something that happened to me when I was a Regional Sales Manager based in Birmingham. I came home from work one evening to be confronted by my wife in floods of tears. She had received a phone call from a guy who had suggested that my wife should tell her husband to stay away from B#####a in the office. Although he did not give his name I knew immediately who it was as unfortunately two days before I had the none too pleasant task of dismissing one of the sales staff following a series of meetings and under performance warning letters. I tried to help him by giving him an extra month's pay and immediately releasing him from further duties. He nevertheless told me exactly what he thought of me. I explained this to me wife and she calmed down readily. It helped that I had previously mentioned the fact that I had not been looking forward to having to give notice to one of the sales staff. Not the first time but never pleasant. The next day I mentioned what had happened to another colleague and another "Danny". I was "DA" and he was "DH" to all that knew us in Brum. DH was a great guy and a good friend. A bright guy from the Irish community in Brum. He introduced me to a lot of his mates and we took up almost a row at The Villa on a Saturday. Anyway, having mentioned the incident to DH I did not give it much further thought until a couple of days later DH put his head into my office and said "Boss, you won't have any more trouble with him again. Me and a few guys from The Ladywood Social Club put him straight." "Jesus, Danny! What the f**k have you done?" says I in a blind panic thinking of a body turning up in a ditch. "No, nothing to worry about we just had a quiet word in his ear. He knows the score now." You will not find that solution in a Dale Carnegie training course. 😄 A happy ending all round with trust resumed. Almost.
