  1. I have found that since retirement my stress levels have gone down considerably. That said I believe that positive stress can be useful as a driver. Is there such a thing? I think if I was a bit more stressed, I would be less sedentary. Stress and anxiety are closely linked and most often I find that things I most worry about are never as bad as first thought. When I was working, there were days, weeks when my stress levels were through the roof and it used to zap energy. Any stress I have these days is related to my health

  3. Wow, that is low. The CEO should be knocking your ex-boss down a peg or two for creating a toxic work environment.

  4. My stress almost disappeared when I quite literally told my (prick ) boss to shove his job where the sun don't shine ( 6 weeks ago) I had to come back the next week to pass on a few ongoing projects He showed his true colors and had a leaving lunch paid by the company but didn't invite me or my team Many Many of the employees came and saw me after and all said what a sick @@##@# he was even the ceo ( was originally from a maintenance trade)came and diplomatically said that was a shit show Now I sit by the pool at hotel on soi lenkee and worry about what should I have for lunch and decide if I should visit that lbfm that was giving me the I need you look

  10. Brilliant result for Ipswich. Town is in full on party mode I had my TXU Energi Town shirt on today watching the game in the Pub. Ipswich was absolutely rammed this morning, blue shirts everywhere - Princes Street opposite Portman Rd was awash with blue smoke and shirts, a really good atmosphere in the Town, the likes of which I've not really felt since the heady days of the FA Cup Win and UEFA Cup wins back in the glory days. @Krapow - don't forget Arnold Muhren and Franz Thysen - 2 great players from the land of the cloggies. Kevin Beattie as well who used to enjoy one or two beers in the pub we lived near to back then. Couple of pics, one taken by a potato and one of the Pub (Cricketers on Crown St) Great result, great game and both crowds very well behaved, a really good day out for the families as well. Gonna be a few sore heads in the morning.

  13. Commutes, supervising cnuts at work and some friends/family members with their never ending problems were leading me to an early grave. I'm glad I made the adjustments. Early retirement was the key. Just got my head shaved in a nice little shop I go to. It was like nirvana.

  15. A new bar has opened on Bongkoch Soi 8. Entrances on both sides of the building. I was riding up 2nd Rd and it was only after I had passed the 747 that it registered in my mind something had changed. The 747 is getting a new paint job. I wonder what will be replacing Aqua Scape Market on Beach Rd.

  16. After the clusterf*ck experience trying to use their website when it would only let me transfer money to my own Wise account, and not to my account in Thailand, they had the cheek to send me an e-mail immediately afterwards asking me to rate my experience and send them any additional comments I might have. I'd have rated them at zero, but one was the lowest score you could give, so I made up for it in the comments. I don't suppose that anyone actually reads this stuff, though, at best they'll have some sort of an AI parsing the results, and my insults probably went well over the top of its training. My impression this last year is that Wise is growing far too fast for its own good, I for one would never hand them thousands of pounds as, by the time you actually want it, they'll have changed the website or app so that you can't do it the way you did the last time, or you have to jump through 5 additional hoops. They're OK for sending a grand here and a grand there, but if I need to bring in a lot more I'll use my Barclays UK account as international transfers are free. I might not get as good a rate as with Wise or XE, but with no fee to pay on, say £10K or £20K, it'll probably all work out roughly the same.

  17. Points to old code that was in your local cache. I run into this quite frequently when I update code on websites I maintain. In Chrome CTRL F5 will force a complete page refresh including the cache, clearing out the old code and replacing it with the updated code.

  21. First of all I'm mightily relieved that Rovers survived the drop thanks to Leicester playing in reverse gear. But..... We will be in this position next season with these moronic owners. Nothing to look forward to I'm afraid, Sammie Smodizc will be off to pastures new no doubt and any fee we get for him will be pocketed by the loons from Pune, India. And congratulations to Dave @Britboy and Ipswich Town. Brilliant stuff and good luck in the Premier league.

  25. I had a few days of walking like John Wayne a few years ago whilst in Pattaya. I went commando and whilst mounting my motorbike, I sat straight on my scrotum. Very painful experience it was too. After that, I made sure that the boys were kept safety in the barracks at all times.

  30. I regularly use Wise and always use Firefox. Invariably logging in has been painless and actual transfers take quite literally seconds. Most recently, including just a few minutes ago, an additional set of security issues have been required to be completed involving a picture divided into square segments. Today it asked me to tick each box that contained (part) of a bus. Maybe it did not like my first set of ticks because it gave me another picture to repeat the exercise after which it logged me in.

  31. The new shop across from Nirun has opened. I wish them success. One problem I think they'll be facing when the rains return and the wind is from a northerly direction is their inventory is going to get soaked. They have retractable covers on three sides, but nothing on the front that I saw that they could pull down to stop wind driven rain from entering. Found it interesting all the price tags are in Thai. And just down the soi the workers are laboring away under the brutal sun.

  33. Stress and anxiety related conditions are IMO the most challenging threats to our overall health. Period. I recognized the necessity to make adjustments regarding stress management decades ago. Making the changes required major sacrifices, but I believe when looking at the big picture well worth it. There will always be some degree of stress in our lives, it is natural and at reasonable levels even good for us. But, if not responsibly managed it will almost certainly lead to a number of painful health issues and a high probability of early death.

  39. Agree. Soi Honey isn't wide enough for two way traffic and making Diana one way will help relieve the bottleneck that often occurs at Khaos Corner.
