  1. I've been on the Thailand forums since 1997 in the days of the old FLB drop down "bulletin board" style of forum, and I've been lucky enough to make many great, kind and decent friends (plus a couple of enemies) as a result. For the most part, blokes come across as they are on the forums, that being decent, honest, fun loving guys with a zest for life and mutual appreciation of the female form. However (or, "But"), a few have been totally different from the person they portray to the person they actually are. One particular gent who remains nameless (as I've forgotten it, but I will edit in if I remember) was a reviewer who claimed to be African American but was actually Caucasian. He basically reviewed as many venues as he could but under a totally assumed and false identity. Actually, I lie, I didn't meet him, he was pointed out to me. Another who springs to mind was a BM we had on Thaigers called "Claw", he came across as a real tough guy, gave the image of being a 6'5 mountain of a guy who took no shit, had an intense hatred of causcasian women but in real life was actually a very pathetic, slightly built American Asian with a really nasty attitude problem. On another note is a current member of another forum, who goes by the name of "King Arthur". Initially I thought he was a bit of a party animal, he knew his onions and definitely had great taste in women. Upon meeting him, I was shocked to see a huge, gentle giant of a guy with hands the size of shovels but is arguably one of the kindest, most gentle people I have ever met. Lastly, from our own forum the enigmatic @Nightcrawler. I always thought he was a decadent, twisted perverted heathen who could hold a conversation with Satan and walk away with a bag of gold. I was right, he is and he can. If any BM's have the misfortune to meet me, I will try not to come across as a know all c**t, so at least I can try to be different from any expectations...

  5. Arrived at Don Mueng going on 30 minutes ago. The International Terminal is closed only the Domestic Terminal open/running. Entering the airport U walk past a temperature check and that is it...no sign in. Went to check in and as I had a bag the Air Asia person directed me to a counter where they also issued my boarding pass. At no time was I asked if I was vaccinated or had a recent Covid test..zip..nothing. Proceed to Security to head in the terminal. All they asked was ID..Boarding Pass..nothing about being vaccinated ...been tested...zip..nothing. From arriving...checking in..thru security...to getting a coffee...all of 20 Minutes. Again all they worried about was a temperature test and that you wore a mask...full stop. cheers

  12. Beach House - Remember that Name - It`s on Beach Road next to the Old Witherspoons - I stumbled upon it this afternoon - and what a SURPRISE that was !!!!! I walked by while having a stroll along the Beach Front - a call came out from about 20 girls asking me to come in - I rang my Buddy ( For Back up ) and we toddled over !!!! Apart from the 20 Girls ( The Boss says there is 28 in all - More coming ) Oh !! The Boss is the Same guy who had The Aussie WALKABOUT BAR at the lights of South Pattaya Road and 3rd Road ... We walked through to the BACK and there was a Swimming Pool with a Band ( they will use later ) then we got the LIFT up to the Next Floor where it a Huge Open Fronted area with a Pool Table and a STUNNING View over the Sea !!! Absolutely Amazing !!! The Toilets are Brand New and Sparkling...The Bar is Wheelchair friendly !!! They also have one of Pattaya Top Chefs to do the Meals...O.K. Next !! The Girls were Very Friendly - Loads of them - wearing Bikinis with a wrap around ( Maybe getting ready for a dip ) We had a BIG Leo Beer which was 140 Baht EACH..Plus many Service Girls.. I started Chatting to a Beautiful Girl who joined us - She said she use to work in AIRPORT a Go-GO.- Her lady`s drink was 150 Baht. She was Full of Laughs and Smiles...Great Company - She say`s if you want to take her for a 'Stroll" it would be 500 Bar Fine. This Bar is a BIG open Fronted Place so you don't feel hemmed in..It got a 10/10 from me - Nothing Like it on BEACH ROAD..Check it OUT.

  13. I try to keep an open mind as people online are not always what I expect. But I can think of one member of another Forum (no names mentioned) who turned out to be as equaly obnoxious in person, though I kind of expected it.

  16. I look forward to seeing more studies like the one I posted earlier. When the pandemic first kicked off none of us, from govt leaders, scientists, medical professionals, down to Joe 6 pack had a clue what the best response should be. I remember early on in the pandemic a few of us were challenging the economic and mental health cost of lockdowns vs a more restrained response to try and slow down the spread of the virus. Now those with the expertise to do so are using the data available now that we didn't have then to try and answer that question. Hopefully the results of these studies will provide guidance going forward. Unfortunately it's questionable if our govt leaders will listen to the good advice that comes from these studies.

  21. Same, the Dynasty Grande was my first ever hotel in Thailand. It was very new itself at the time. I subsequently tried about 8 or 9 different hotels along the Nana/Asoke strip over the years but always had a soft spot for Dynasty Grande. The website is still up but has no updates and it is not possible to book anything through end of 2022. We shall keep a light burning.......

  22. Starting posting on Secrets in 2007 though started coming to LOS early 00's . To be honest iv changed as a person myself back then I was early 30s so it's obvious I'm going to change. At one point I used to like the odd wind up on the boards nowadays I know most names from elsewhere and have met one or two over the years.. Can't always like everyone and I haven't got the patience for some , but iv met a few decent lads and women (not just Thai either) from the boards and in LOS in general.

  27. If he was a football manager he'd have been sacked ages ago. One win in the last 14 test matches is fucking abysmal. Let's see who they go for now. Should never have changed the old style selection committee and sacked Ed Smith. Too much say from Giles and Silverwood. Root is not a tactically good enough captain so that needs sorting as well. Whole system and hierarchy is a fucking mess.

  36. New exchange booth Naklua Road near Dolphin Circus; I am not impressed with the rates. The Sabai Rooms Soapy is fenced off; I do not know what is happening to it. Let sleeping dogs lie in Soi 6. The pumps are back today. No significant damage to the beach after the rain this afternoon. Some isolated pockets of water collecting but nothing too problematic. Not many tour busses around these days.

  38. There has been so much lying going on by governments to their people for two years, it just turns my gut. We have now had conclusive evidence from the CDC that those cloth masks didn't work to stop the infection, something I had wrote months ago! There has been no clear evidence that shows children need to be vaxxed. None! The lockdowns were wrong. The deaths in the USA, when digging into the truth within the numbers is that out of the first 800,000 Americans who died, ostensibly due to Covid, 600,000 were over the age of 65 and had an average of 4 comorbidities. Many of us wondered about the true nature of these deaths, asking why wasn't vital info reported about the numbers, not merely the ethnicity and sex and age, but were they obese, had heart disease or some other comorbidities? Were they admitted into the hospital for something else entirely and once in the hospital were tested and came up positive, therefore their death being due to Covid, and not WITH Covid, a more factual statement. And yet the very willing media was only too caught up in the hysteria of the numbers themselves and reluctant to look behind the numbers for the real story. Americans have been force fed the continuous clap trap from Dr. Fauci, a guy who should have been let go months ago and is clearly addicted to his news media created celebrity, who has been caught dead to rights on his flip flopping and goal post moving, regarding the virus. If he had his way, 300 million people would still be in lock down and not permitted to go out to any social function, because the venues would all be closed. Not to mention his lying about the gain of function research that was proven in a congressional hearing. That right there should have got him canned at the very least! In addition there should not be ONE SINGLE CHILD in school being made to wear a mask at any time. What has been done in the name of safety to American school children is nothing less than shameful and abuse. Their educational development has been permanently handicapped and they will never get these 2 years back. An abomination of the first order. China should be having tariffs placed on every product it exports to every country on the planet. It should be severely punished with economic sanctions by the "community of nations", to use a diplomatic phrase, to teach it a lesson. Of course, that will never happen as too many special interests have financial investments in China. The citizens of the world all should have declared February 1st as the day Covid ceased to be an impediment to the economic, educational, and leisure activities of their lives. Enough is enough. The people have spoken.

  39. I personally wasn’t a fan of Brady, but you can’t argue with what he’s accomplished, and it will never be duplicated. And where he started from……people don’t realize how many high school “studs” don’t even make it to be decent college players. This guy wasn’t even his high school’s best QB at first, then was only SEVENTH on Michigan’s depth chart before he started his last 2 years. Then 199th in the NFL draft, and it took an awful hit on Bledsoe just for him to get a chance with the Patriots. In my experience, many great sports prospects are disappointments, but usually every amazing player at least starts out as a great prospect. Brady must have worked his arse off practicing and been a master at reading a playbook, he made it look so easy. The greatest draft steal in NFL history….

  41. Nope. Many Native Americans fought with the 'patriot' freedom fighters in the Revolutionary War against England. Natives Americans also serve proudly in the modern US military. Lots of Native American 'cowboys' too...to this day. I worked for a number of years with Native American communities and from my first hand experience they loathe what white Europeans did to them. Any modern anger or resentment on their part due to racial slurs is more than reasonable considering it follows centuries of systematic genocide. It's just too bad it's taken this long to set things straight.

  42. A pleasant morning ride. They've done a good job turning Soi 15 into a good mtn bike track. Also good to see they've selected the very large version of drain pipes. Allows more room for the collection of sand and other road construction debris.
