Just got off the phone to my wife who is on her break at work. She is besides herself with excitement because the Welsh government has announced that every carer will receive a tax free £1000 in April. She will have spent it 10 times over by the time she gets home tonight.6 points

That's one ugly looking bike, and what's with the large knife hanging from his belt ? That will not help much when he's by the side of the road broken down.......He'd be far better off carrying an adjustable spanner !!3 points

Brilliant news from Boris, whether it's to appease the Tory back benches and get them onside again or not - https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-60319947 Boris Johnson has said he plans to end all remaining Covid restrictions in England - including the legal rule to self-isolate - a month early. Under the current rules, anyone who tests positive must self-isolate for at least five days. The current restrictions are due to expire on 24 March. But Mr Johnson told MPs he expected the last domestic rules would end early "provided the current encouraging trends in the data continue". He said he intended to return after parliamentary recess - which is from 21 February - to outline the government's strategy for living with Covid. At the start of Prime Minister's Questions, Mr Johnson said: "It is my intention to return on the first day after the half-term recess to present our strategy for living with Covid. "Provided the current encouraging trends in the data continue, it is my expectation that we will be able to end the last domestic restrictions - including the legal requirement to self-isolate if you test positive - a full month early."3 points

Contrary to Code Slayer, he was the evenest tempered person on the forum, boiling mad all the time 😉2 points

I mostly put up photos of my Western cooking or restaurant meals, but we probably eat Thai 70% of the time. When I take my short jaunts to Pattaya, hopefully to resume soon, it's 100% Western, because of the wider variety available there.2 points

I love the Thai food, but too much of the same thing and I am craving something different.2 points

Think it's more about fitting in another specialist middle order batsmen when they know they lack top order options.2 points

High Rollers, a new GC on Soi Pothole is having their grand opening party on the 19th. They've spent a fair bit of coin on fitting the place out. Video of the refit posted on their FB page (link).2 points

I once called in sick to work on a Tuesday because the Allman Bros were playing that night in Sacramento at an outdoor amphitheater back in 1993. It was general admission and after a few songs where we realized there was plenty of room down in front of the stage, much of the crowd had moved down to stand close as they didn't draw a huge crowd, maybe all of 5-6,000 in a venue that would hold 14,000 at full capacity, we left our bleacher seats and wound up standing at the right of the stage, maybe just 50-60 feet from the giant speakers blasting out the sound. To this day, it's the closest to the performers I've ever been for a live show. A couple hours listening, and my ears were still ringing 2 days later. What a band those guys were!2 points

@Yessongs Toni Braxton just missed out to Randy Crawford in my nominations, great voice and one of the most beautiful woman to walk the planet.2 points

Wow, that takes me back. My dad would listen to all the big band orchestras when I was a kid, and Glenn was his favourite. Used to like it myself. Mum was an Elvis fan. Moonlight Serenade was his favourite, and mine as well. We played it at his funeral. Thanks for the memories by posting it.2 points

Well....Having seen Celine Dion at Impact Arena, her first time ever in Thailand, I will go with her. I knew she was good ( matter of opinion I realize) but when you see her sing live, it's mind blowing really! This is one Canadian gal that has some "pipes" What's up with you Brit's? No Adele?? I also like Toni Braxton.2 points

I do think that many people fall fail of posting whilst drunk, there are good drunks and some not so, just like in real life. Unfortunately a drunken rant once too often is the demise of many otherwise decent guys on forums.2 points

Yes he made some good posts and seemed to be a guy that would have your back, I was just worried that that back might be the other guys and not mine.1 point

I can relate to the back issues. Can be painful as f**k. But you can come back from it (no pun intended). Stick with the routine and things can improve. I am back to about 80% normal which is a huge relief. Plan is to continue to work on the things to improve the muscle strength in the lower back, along with better posture, etc.1 point
