  1. Though it might pale when compared to some recent offerings of others, the fried cod, corn and bow tie pasta with salt and butter I had for dinner ate pretty good. And leftovers tomorrow.

  3. My great hero Luther Blissett posted this on FB today: You may be surprised to learn this but when Love they Neighbour was on tv I sat with my family and we laughed. We recognised it was comedy, not malicious, reflecting life at that time and satirising the way some people behaved. Showing uncomfortable stereotypes and behaviour. On both sides.

  7. So basically I just used the M-Flow again today and I will be putting here a step by step on how to make the payment if you're not a registered user: 1) Go to the M-Flow website at https://mflowthai.com/mflow and click on "Non-Requestered(sic) Use of M-Flow" or you can just go directly here https://mflowthai.com/mflow/unuserpayment 2) A pop-up will appear and please fill in your vehicle's registration number. The province box means the province which your vehicle is registered at, not the province where you're residing (e.g. your vehicle could be bearing a Bangkok plate but you're living in Chonburi etc.) 3) Click Search 4) Here you can see that I have a history of outstanding payment to the tune of 30 baht. No penalties yet as I have not exceeded the allocated 2 days grace period for payment. 5) There are 2 methods of payment either via QR payment using your Bank's Mobile Application or via credit/debit card. I opted to use the QR code: 6) Click "Payment" and you will see a page with a QR code. Scan the QR code with your mobile banking application and proceed to make payment. 7) Basically once you have confirmed the payment via your mobile Banking application that's pretty much it. To be extra sure you repeat step 1-3 and if the payment is successful there will be no history of outstanding payment as shown below: Hope this helps!

  8. When I was Root admin of the secrets for him one of the owners wanted me to boot him no way I told him if you want him gone you boot him and when he asks who and why I'll let him know. He goes off the rails sometimes but forums get old when people spend so much time patting each other on the back that's great good going nice shot that's wonderful. Controversy is good for a forum I will put in that's my opinion because of course many will disagree

  9. Covid has a lot to answer for. It has brought about incredible R & D with regards to vaccines, delivery means, efficacy, timescales, demographic differences, mortality numbers and God knows what else. It has also demonstrated to current and successive governments the estimated level of public compliance, which groups are most likely to resist, demonstrate and which groups will follow instructions without question. It has allowed a draconian intrusion and removal of fundamental freedoms, some of which totally unnecessary (care home rules for example) .Moreover it has also demonstrated to which level a govt can call upon it's Police and law enforcement to uphold those rules, and the level of sanction they can visit upon offenders. For example: BLM protests in the UK. Very soft policing approach despite the rules in place. Racially sensitive. Sarah Everard protest in London. Tough approach, bully boy tactics and basically a throwback to how the Police operated during the Miners Strike. Almost, because "hysterical women". Fortunately, the piss useless muppet Cressida Dick has now left the Met, so hopefully even if her successor is half as competent as a performing monkey, he will therefore be twice as competent as her. But, I digress. I still believe that Covid was a weaponised version of that type of Virus. Deliberately weaponised, perhaps accidentally released, perhaps done on purpose. With my tin foil hat firmly covering my ears and eyes so as not to hear or see any reasonable argument against it, it remains my opinion after having spoken to some pretty clever people. The data, the virulence, the spread and the continuing mutation is priceless information to any Regime looking at how effective to make it's next biological weapon. Moreso, the time it took for how the various Govts reacted, and how far it had spread before they did so, and what the reaction was (remember Bojo and "Herd Immunity"? - "We'll have this virus beaten in 12 weeks"...yadayadayada..How long it took to spread and where it spread from and to. This is invaluable intelligence, absolute gold mine for the scientists and arguably a once in a lifetime chance to maybe pull a bit of a stunt and get away with it, relatively lightly. For a Political regime with an unenviable record on human rights and a self confessed aim of establishing another Chinese "Dynasty" as was however many thousand years ago, it seems a win win. No one will sanction them as they need the cheap stuff, no one will challenge them Militarily because the US simply does not have an appetite (despite the capability) for another punch up in SEA and no one will challenge them economically, simply because they can't (although keep an eye on India - Watch this space). Because after all, China seems to have done so, and gotten away with it, have they not?.

  10. The problem is that a lot of people are bertie big bollocks from behind the safety of a keyboard and will not back down until actually proven wrong or challenged in person, whereupon they become shrinking violets or put up an emoji or somesuch tosh. all of a sudden they go quiet or less provocative for a while, then start again. It's in their nature. Cowardly acts of verbal aggression to make up for their own personal shortfalls. In some ways, this is when guys like Codeslayerbkk are missed on a forum, although a slightly abrasive persona, he wouldn't stand for people making statements such as the one highlighted in your post @Derek Dangleberries and would call them out on it. (although I know it was on a different forum and our Mods wouldn't entertain such behaviour) This is the Internet though guys. I'll have good money we can all remember a time before it and probably look upon those days with a slight nostalgia and wry smile.

  16. Indeed! Difficult for anybody to control when the forum/bar owner posts that children of serving soldiers in NI should be killed. I am struggling to remember Matty's original BM name on PT. A very far left wing troll nutter from London. On PL he was a self employed carpenter or some such nonsense.

  17. Well i still miss TS, CSB and ITT, bloody shame they had to go imo. When forums are only made up of yes men blowing smoke up each others asses they become very boring very quickly imo. Getting back to the topic title i sincerely hope Changfai from the Secrets board is nothing like his board persona in real life.

  24. That's what I was told recently, and despite being called "hansum man" by Thai bar girls (and who am I disbelieve them) 😁😁, I think I would rather hold back for a while, that being the case and leave it to the expats

  25. My summary, if you are coming to go out and drink in the bars with your mates, then there are plenty of bars open to support that. If you are coming for Quality pussy to stay over night, then don't bother. The guys out number the girls massively and thats just the expats.

  26. Totally agree that different personalities make a forum, but there are limits to people's behaviour and that's where the owners, admin and mods have to decide what sort of environment they wish to provide for the members. Long may that remain, otherwise you just end up with a shit fest, which no one really wants to be part of.

  27. At present a large percentage of bars are open, even though they are operating under a restaurant licence. There are plenty of girls at these bars. That said the bars which are open do not include the GoGo bars, bar a tiny minority. My suspicion is that a number of GoGo girls are working in these beer bars. I noticed some very attractive girls whilst walking along Soi 6. The town generally is very quiet. There was a rise in the number of people visiting over Christmas; this was mainly Thai nationals from Bangkok but some overseas visitors. Most of these are now gone and the place is relatively quiet. Walking Street was dominated by GoGo bars which are closed and due to the lack of diversity in the area, Walking Street does look very much abandoned in parts. The shopping malls are open but relatively quiet. I did a few of the nearby tourist attractions the other week and generally they were very quiet. In one case I was the only spectator to watch the crocodile show. On average I would see about three visitors at the attractions at the time of my visit. The place is not deserted but considerably quieter than it was at Christmas and the New Year. By contrast it is busier than it was when I visited in July. By no means a good answer but I hope it assists.

  35. Cleared a big dump of snow on Friday, only to have to do it all again on Sunday; overnight the temperature dropped to -30C but is forecast to warm up to -5C again tomorrow and our daylight is increasing visibly every day - we're well over the hump now and have only (!) five weeks or so of winter left. Today will be a lazy day catching up on stuff around the house.

  37. Made the trek out to the work site on the north end of the beach this morning. Asked and was granted permission to walk on the work site to snap a few pictures. I'll leave it to another BM to come up with the full translation, but if the 49,600,000 is the budget for the project that seems rather high to me for what looks like throwing down more rocks and possibly covering everything with a layer of concrete.
