I read elsewhere that it is indeed a renovation/rebuilding. That report said one person has acquired the leases on all the bars in the complex and will turn it into one large open beer bar.

Evil

That's good news, hopefully with no competition between bars when he/she opens up the price structure won't be too extravagant as it's a prime location.

This location is Cursed.... Businesses cant seem to make it here...

Or we've reached a point where the market can no longer bear the exorbitant rent and key money landlords are charging. Expect to see many more businesses closing their doors in the coming months when the owners realize there aren't enough customers to pay the rent.

That particular business didn't know what it was - bar, gogo, or GC.

One of my favourite coffee places from last trip has expanded their empire...

Can't blame her for trying, but I think the menu is far too big for a tucked away eatery...

Good to see they've replaced the awnings that dripped on us during the rainstorm.

I will be returning to Pattaya from Vietnam on the 2nd of June. And am wondering if the 3rd will be a bar closure day for Visakha Bucha day. Any thoughts or is it to early to speculate.

You'll be able to celebrate your return with a drink in your room. :default_cheers:

Pattaya Police Warn Suspected Prostitutes not to Sell Sexual Services to Tourists .....

Pattaya Tourist Police headed down to Pattaya Beach last night and warned the city’s ladies and transgender individuals to stop allegedly selling illegal sex services and move off the beachfront.

Last night on May 17th, several police officers and Tourist Police inspected the Pattaya beachfront to instruct individuals suspected of selling sex work to tourists to move along the beach.

The police, led by Pol. Col. Somchai Thiraphatphaisarn, informed the individuals that it was against Thai laws to idle on the beachfront selling sex services to passing tourists. If they were caught repeating this act again, they would face a harsh fine, said Col. Somchai.

The alleged sex workers were then taken to the police station to have their identities documented and face a fine. Col. Somchai said the crackdown was in accordance with orders from national deputy police chief Surachate “Big Joke” Hakparn to preserve a family-friendly image of Pattaya City.

This doozy was in the Thaiger..

If you see anyone selling sex services on the beach or notice any other activity that could tarnish Pattaya’s unblemished image, be sure to call the Tourist Police...
