There have been a couple of suggestions in other threads that a thread dedicated to Darwin Award nominees would be useful.

The Darwin Awards salute the improvement of the human genome by honoring those who accidentally remove themselves from it in a spectacular manner!

Russian mummy blogger Ekaterina Didenko distraught after three die at her birthday party

An Instagram star with more than a million followers is distraught after 25kgs of dry ice was added to a pool during her birthday party, killing three people including her husband.

Three people died and seven are critically ill after an Instagram star’s pool party stunt
turned to tragedy.

The Sun reports that victims reportedly suffered carbon dioxide poisoning when a huge load
of dry ice was chucked into the water to create a spectacular “steam show” effect.

Moscow mum blogger Ekaterina Didenko, who has 1.1 million followers, was celebrating
her 29th birthday in a pool and sauna complex in the Russian capital.

Her husband Valentin, 32, was among three fatalities after he unloaded 25kg of dry ice, or
frozen carbon dioxide, into the pool.

Tick tock, tick tock...

Yeah, don’t do this.

That's petrol/gasoline in those plastic bags. (I suppose someone will complain that the bags didn't come with a warning "not to be used for the storage of hydrocarbons").

And while on the subject of fuel storage...

I wonder if they have any bog rolls.

Lots of people have been stockpiling.

That plastic bag job is beyond stupidity!

Another entry in the "now I have seen everything' log. 🤣

My favorite is still the two Thai guys on a motorbike transporting a full size bath completely covering both their heads.

A teenage TikTok star has "died on the spot" in a video prank gone wrong, killing himself
instantly after mixing up a loaded weapon for a viral stunt.

Officials told AFP the 19-year-old from Pakistan's Swat Valley was a rising star on the platform,
building up a 8,000-strong following on the video-sharing application.

The young man, known only as Hamidullah, had his friends film him as he jokingly aimed a gun
he thought was unloaded to his head. He then allegedly pulled the trigger and died instantly.

“This boy was pretending to commit suicide with a loaded pistol. He put the gun on his head and
then it suddenly misfired,” a senior police official told local media.

“The unfortunate youngster died on the spot as he was directly hit in the head. There was no
chance of survival.”

Incredibly, the morbid video still made it online after the teenager's unfortunate demise.

Sorry but the gun didn't " misfire " The stupid shit put the barrel up to his head an pulled the trigger.....  the gun just did what the gun is designed to do. Blame is 100% on the kid. No sympathy here.

True, always assume a gun is loaded unless you unloaded it completely and it hasn't left your hands since. There are too many (true) stories about people firing "unloaded" guns, sometimes even after removing the magazine (but forgetting the chambered round). My father was witness of such an incident while serving time in the Dutch military as conscript (late fifties).

Police in Catalonia are investigating the death of a man who is thought to have become trapped inside a large dinosaur statue while trying to retrieve his mobile phone.

Officers were called to the statue in Santa Coloma de Gramenet, a satellite town of Barcelona, after a man and his son noticed something inside the papier-mache stegosaurus on Saturday afternoon.
