john luke Posted March 22, 2020 Author Share Posted March 22, 2020 Nothing to suggest that part completed construction work had been halted. Never seen Terminal 21 so quiet, even in a morning. Normally impossible to take photograph of the planes without having people there. Still a number of places give the impression that they will open again on 1st April 2020. Finally a plug for Bella Italia, one of my regular places. They are offering a free home delivery service. Saw the same earlier in London. Very quiet but cafes are supposed to be closed ...one near me lots of old people side by side sitting at tables and all smoking their heads off..... ..and Jesus wept. I suspect one or two bars on the side streets are now becoming restaurants. Had dinner at Bella Italia this evening. New tables with glass tops and no table cloths. Also tables spaced out and total number resumed. john luke Posted March 23, 2020 Author Share Posted March 23, 2020 This morning's walk (well actually part Baht Bus Ride) took me to Naklua Sea Food Market. First impressions were how quiet Naklua was. See street shots and the views of the car park. Inside plenty of fish but significantly fewer customers. Nice views across the bay towards Pattaya and Sanctuary of Truth. Clothes shops still stocking Songkran style clothes which are very colourful. Thought, that's a nice gesture in these trying times. I have concentrated here on restaurants which whilst normally not packed mid afternoon would normally have customers. Mai Thai is now closed. This was the busiest restaurant on Naklua Road. Ls Ls Baguette which has been around for a long time is now only doing take away. What can I say about this one. Another restaurant apparently closed Thai Marche - closed and all tables inside covered. Face masks. Some work going on here. Some good keeping of Social Distance by officers during the Police Briefing but sadly not by many others on Beach Road and the Beach. Sections of road also approaching completion.
