Had the first couple of years worth of 2000AD comics , I always used to get first editions to see what they were like and for the free gift ...they were just thrown away by mistake 😞

Used to read that as well, comics, books, have read a lot all my life.

Trouble was our parents didn't know the value of what stuff would sell for (or cared) years later and I was too young to appreciate what might be valuable.

My brother has a vast collection of quad posters (one particular worth over £5000 - The Great Escape) and has probably got over £30000 worth, it will all go to his son. As he told me the other day, many of the posters he now has were on his wall in his room in his hall of residence back in the early 70s and he threw them away, he bought them again at silly prices over the last 10 years. Hammer Horror worth a bit today but many of us had those on our walls.

I remember them, plus the Sven Hassel war novels from the 70's.

f**k, things you forget about until reminded of them.

They helped many guardrooms stay awake during the night along with the "Edge" westerns too...

Not to mention the stash of Knave, Escort, Fiesta, Men Only and some other dubious German "reading" material covertly hidden within arms reach...

I brought a load of Sven Hassel novels from a Car boot sale a few years back and flogged them on Ebay for 3x what I paid!. Books from Car boot sales can make some decent wedge, but they need to be specialised. Photography, Sailing and boatcraft, "hobby" books and stuff for scale modelling always sells for 4 or 5 times the price, sometimes more.

And, I actually have a stash of vintage jazz mags in the boot of the Hako which I found in a skip...outside a Church!

And, I actually have a large stash of Gay porn mags and Gladiators Monthly in the boot of the Hako which I bought during the 80s and still use  to masturbate over, in B&Q car parks.

For last few years I have put off redecorating my flat, main excuse was I was unable to stand on a stepladder for more than 20 minutes without causing a lot of pain in my ankle.

Finally decided to build a platform and use that.

So no excuses now.
