20 October 2017 : A few pics of some food in Kuta. October in full swing, so Bratwurst it will be for me... Walking along the beach we found a lovely place "Beachwalk restaurant" attached to a hotel of the same name. Food was so good that I over did it a bit, plus some wine, and my stomac did not like it... Seems to be a few VM Combi's around "surfers" style And the old Kuta railway station has been turned into a restaurant...but they kept a souvenir4 points

OK, as I said I intend to copy / continue my "old frog takes another leap" report on here. But before proceeding, I would like to have your opinion. I intend to copy the complete old thread from the beginning, in stages of say 2 or 3 episodes a week. Now, I understand this could be a bit "repetitive" for members having already seen it elsewhere, but I think it would be good "filling" content to make the board more attractive for new members and would nicely fit with th concept of this board's more "global" approach on LOS and SEA than others who are more concentrated on Pattaya's nightlife. Gentlemen, the "paste and copy" device is ready, just let me know ! Cheers PS : I may also try to put some in the HKG section .3 points

The wife’s Aunty has a Thai film company and was also a set director on a few films, including some Bond films, where she designed some of the the sets. Did some sets on the Bridget Jones films in Thailand, amongst others and trained in the US under Oliver Stone. She was involved in the film, The Beach and many other films. So interesting talking to her about the film industry in Thailand and elsewhere. She designed our beach front coffee shop in Hua Hin, in the Bali style. She’s still involved in films, but also designs houses in Asia and elsewhere. We went to Ko Kao Phing Kan once, many years ago, a beautiful place, but ruined by tourism. The smell of engine fuel and smoke was overwhelming. I can understand why people visit, but once was enough for me.2 points

Just realising, with work, I just don't have enough time to look through all the threads created on this forum, that is a good sign of an evolving forum. Will try to make time tomorrow to check the forum content thoroughly. Enjoying what I am reading. Breath of fresh air.2 points

New computer has 3 27" monitors and as the old puter desk wont accommodate them its time to make a new one... Will be a cantilever design of sorts, nice and tall as I need to mount my TV above the computer....lots to do before it resembles anything though.2 points

it is a prob tho. nowadays from the day you enter you need to be TM30 ( immigration registration) wherever you stay. renting a house out on a dialy basis, or condo, is deemed as a hotel operation and subject to fines. the powers thsat be monitor air BnB and actually contact some, random, renters.. then they are able to catch them. for the tenant its not an issue. we rent here and were putting on air bnb when this all kicked off, it looked great but pulled out straight away. if reotx and the like cant rent rooms in the city, its too risky for us little people1 point
