  1. My latest trip (and apologies for not making the coffee meet up - I had a lot going on) started kind of well. my (comfortable and slept for a solid 9 hours) EVA flight arrived early, de planed and immigration was pretty clear. By way of some miracle my bags were among the first to come off (same happened on my return journey) and I was out, and into the Nams taxi by 16:30, so less than an hour after hitting the tarmac. I then LINE messaged my friend, (who had given the deposit for my room) immediately called me back. "got a problem with your room mate" "oh no, what's the score" "well, I went to the Hotel this morning to drop you off a few beers" (See, he's a good mate)" and they'd given your room away" "what the fucking hell are you on about?". "yeah, so I got an arse on and spoke to the manager, read him his horoscope and told him he's in breach of contract, so they've upgraded your room for the entire stay, oh and you've got breakfast thrown in as well". My mate managed to work a miracle, and it was a great start to a great trip. Upon arriving at the hotel the senor receptionist gave me a sheepish look and told me that my friend had been quite firm in his manner. For those of you who are wondering, it was Cerberus, the former owner of the Devils Den who sorted everything. In addition, I also got a free cocktail voucher. I was pretty tired, and believe it or not on my first night I fell asleep on the bed with a bag of crisps and a beer and woke up 10 hours later picking broken crisps out of my bumcrack. Fast forward a few days, and I was eating my breakfast when there was some commotion going on. The place (Page10 Soi 10) had only gone and caught fire. Worse still, my room was 3 floors above it. As panic was obviously starting to set in, they evacuated the hotel, however, as everyone was running out, I was running upstairs to grab my cash, cards, passport and phone charger (no idea why I grabbed the charger though), and despite the staff telling me otherwise, I was fucking having none of it. Last thing I needed was to be stranded with no money or cards and having to ponce drinks and sleep in abandoned bars. Luckily Pattaya's finest fire service managed to get their 48 year old fire tender to work and extinguish the fire. My room stunk of smoke, so I aired it all day, stayed at my friends for the night and returned the following day. By way of compensation we were given a cup of tea or coffee in the restaurant. I thought that was generous given the fact I could have been looking at losing all my clothes, my passport, airline tickets and the thick end of a few grand in readies. So, lesson learned and the moral of the story, if your hotel catches fire and you're lucky enough to be there at the time, grab everything and ignore any toxic smoke or instructions from the staff.

  3. Hopefully he’ll be out of the country and blackballed from ever coming back. Attacking female staff over a check bin is reason enough to kick him out. 😡

  7. I discovered you need to be logged in to X to view the video. My take on the video is a boneheaded farang shot water at someone that didn't want to get wet and got his ass kicked for being a dumb fck.

  10. Managed to escape to the Sportsman with only my back getting sprayed a few times. 15 minutes in the Sun and that soon dried off. There is a massage place next door, so decided to get my head, shoulders and back sorted. f**k me, I knew it was tight in there, but the 60kgs bird must of had all her weight on her elbows buried to my spine. Not one for pain, but I put up with it knowing it needed freeing off. Now back in the Sportsman drinking the black stuff.

  11. Just taken a taxi down to Suk soi 4 at 2am, only have to cross the road to soi 3 to be home. Still pissed up wankers trying to wet everyone waiting to cross the road. It's a popular pick up point for the lady boys, a bit of a confrontation between the 2 and the wankers retreat. Thankfully I made it home dry, credit to the cock in a frock brigade!

  12. I had a funny feeling about Bruno F this week, which is why I made him captain. I watched the first 20 minutes in bed, Bournemouth went 1-0 up and Utd were poor. So turned it off and went to sleep. Nice surprise waking up today that he got both goals in the 2-2. Only downside is I had Onana as my keeper and Hoiland, who seems to have been crap since coming back from injury. Real mess still are Utd.

  13. Mike is one of the good guys. When I had my motorcycle accident some years ago, he was a great help to me in sorting out insurance and treatment and his partner even retrieved my bike and brought it back to my residence. I met up with him in October last year and he was in more or less full recovery.

  14. I will ask him, I'll speak to him this afternoon 🙂 He's absolutely fine and dandy mate. I spent a chunk of my holiday at his house, we went around town a few evenings but mostly ended up in Hops on Yamato or Beer Hubb on Beach Road for some food and a few beers, or eating in the evening at his. People have mentioned or asked about his health issues, which have been exaggerated by the jungle drums and even some twat saying he'd died (which I got pretty angry about on PA and probably banned, but hey ho). He spent a couple of weeks in hospital during Covid with an unrelated condition, but since then he has been in fairly good health. He's relaunching the Devil's Den soon, and is seeking people to invest and inject some cash into it, I understand that all the info is on PA.

  20. There probably are water free bars that adhere to the sunset rules but you have to walk past all the other crazy 'let's carry on the mayhem' bars to get there. It only takes one idiot in a bar to ruin it for many of those who just want to have a quiet night in a restaurant or stroll about town, probably why many of us left town at Songkran. Unless you are willing to get involved or run the chance of getting wet, best to stay in your residence or leave town. Many may say you are grumpy, and I would agree if it was really only for a day or two, but it's not in the Pattaya Central area, it goes on for about 10 days before ending on the 19th, that is just too much for the patience of many unless you are a tourist and come particularly because of the festival. My reason for leaving is that, out of 3 Songkran festivals, I only enjoyed one, that was when I was staying at the Whitehouse and just placed myself in the corner bar on 2nd road by the hotel for the whole day. Get a soaking and then just sit, watch and drink, till it's over. The other 2 occasions I was in my house but decided to venture out, the amount of talc and water pasted and sprayed over my face made me violently sick, I vowed not to do it again. When I lived in Hua Hin, it really only got crazy for a day, same in Khon Kaen, it was a first day of gentle sprinkling with all the villagers, the second day was just the youth getting pissed and fighting. Pattaya, you can have it.

  25. In another pool competition today and really didn't want to get soaked. Was mildly surprised when the first taxi I flagged down was happy to take me to Times Square for 100b. Its around 60 on the meter. From there I can get around on the elevated walk way into Terminal 21 without getting wet. The taxi guys at ground level were armed and dangerous. Lol

  26. Surprised that with your heart history that you were able to drive. When I had 2 “fainting fits” my cardiologist told me to inform DVLA and give up my license, as he was obliged under the law to enter it into my medical notes and were I to have an accident, I could well find myself both uninsured and driving illegally if I hadn’t informed DVLA as fainting is classified as losing consciousness and is a reason that DVLA rescind your license and insurance won’t cover you. I had to get a letter from my cardiologist after a year of not driving and no more “fainting fits “ before I could re apply for my license.

  27. There were no stoppages in the 7 minutes extra time in Soton vs Watford....so how come Soton scored the winner in the 99th minute? & that after an obvious handball....fucking refereeing in the championship is diabolical.

  28. Hi chaps SVB Departures An update to SVB as from my return journey yesterday via EVA. I left pattaya at 05:45 and got to SVB at 07:10, once my bag was wrapped, I headed to the EVA check in area. The airport seemed to be busier than usual , perhaps due to the holidays: If you look in the background, it was heaving with people. Gone are the horrific queues that EVA managed to create this time last year, as the check in process is now very easy and slick. The EVA check in area at time of writing was Section "R" I had not checked in online, and upon arriving did the following: I went to the small Self service desk and selected EVA air, then scanned my passport: After answering some standard worded questions, it printed out the required number of baggage labels and boarding pass. After attaching the labels, it was then just a matter of heading to the Bag drop: Each bag drop kiosk has a hand scanner, (sorry, no pics) you then scan your boarding pass and answer some questions, and it then asks how many bags you're dropping, and you then scan the first one, place it on the belt, and the machine prints a baggage receipt, then it asks again if you wish to drop another bag, so you then scan the second one and repeat. The machine then gives confirmation and your final baggage receipt, and that's it. All done. It is a very easy and slick system, and there are people on hand to help in case of any issues. It was then on to immigration (no queues at all) where I used the E- passport option, but realised I had an entry stamp but no exit one. I asked an immigration officer if it will be a problem, he said it wouldn't, but it might be an idea to keep any records like my boarding pass or ticket with me next time, just in case. There are lines available for manned kiosks where I guess they'll give you an exit stamp, but as I said, I didn't get one. I can't see this being an issue, but I've kept all my documents just in case they get the arse next time I visit. Overall, a massive improvement at SVB over last year. LHR: LHR had few queues, not busy at all. E-gates working this time, and my bags were the first off after the Biz class ones.

  31. Good to see in general.I have had personal experience of being temporarily blinded by one of those whilst riding a motorcycle. I jammed the brakes on, but the bike skidded and overturned with me on it. I also list a pair of expensive prescription sun glasses in a similar manner, which were blown off with a water Canon and ended up being crushed under the wheels of a Baht Bus. It would be nice to see the original traditions being upheld without being a war zone for those who had a deprived childhood. I like the sound of a 6pm.curfew for water activity and would hope that it rolls out successfully in many Sois of Pattaya. Those who like to play, will have all daylight hours to enjoy and those who don't can enjoy a normal night of entertainment. It makes perfect sense.

  32. Apologies if this has been mentioned already I haven't seen it here but there is a very large area that had a huge Banner on it on 3rd Rd Opposite I believe it's soi 21 the same one that PP massage is on. It says something regarding a new beer bar complex being built I'm sure it's just an April Fool's joke not only is that just more beer bars that aren't needed but that is a bad location in my opinion. Unless they've got big parking plans and still they've got to have a major draw to get people up there I would think. I just can't see another 10 or 15 bar complex springing up and succeeding but what do I know
