john luke
Not spectacular at all, but it always amazes me to see the adaptions made from what started off, probably a few years ago as a motor cycle. 3

Told me a bit about the history, I told him I knew someone who will know all about it. Kawasaki's only current cruiser in the model range. 650cc twin cylinder engine, start at £7000. The engine has been around over 20 years, though been updated over the period. Pretty bullet proof as well. Used in or 4 other models in the range. Paint jobs not standard, at least in the UK. 2

He told me a bit about the history and how the modern ones have updated abs etc. Said he had a big Harley and something else, but he preferred to ride this one above all others. First time I have seen anything like it.

First time I have seen anything like it. Not knowing what the "something else" is i can only comment ref' the "big Harley", i can fully understand the chap preferring the Kawasaki, as he's FAR more likely to reach his destination without problems..... That model of Vulcan are actually quite a popular bike, together with the Custom version which has amongst other things the 21" and narrow front wheel fitted. They have been making them for many years now, i can only assume because they still sell well......

galenkia
Nice 'Busa. One of the bikes I've always wanted a go on. Relentless acceleration all the way up to almost 200mph.

I absolutely love this kind of thing. Back yard engineering, often with nothing more than a decent welding kit and tape measure. Brilliant. Not that I'd ever want to use it though lol

SteveBC
Two lovely machines that i come across during my travels. 1st. A most lovely BMW outfit, the sidecar is original too. It's on display in a large coffeeshop in Ubon Ratchathani and is in regular use ( or at least was at the time ). 2nd. An old British Ariel which had been fitted with a diesel engine, a good conversion as it does not look out of place at all. I spotted this in a motorcycle workshop on the Sukhumvit road in Pattaya, the shop is no longer there, i think it was on the site of what is now Big Wing ?? 4

Way better than those awful Easy Rider style ones with ridiculous long forks and ape hanger bars. 1

I had a test ride on one in 2003/4 when mine was in for service at a main dealer. It was quite pokey but the combination of forward controls & flat bars made it very uncomfortable to ride. One of the reasons I liked mine was that it didn't have forward controls, looks dead cool but actually awful. 4

Having this dickhead coming at me from the opposite direction with lights blazing into my eyes would piss me off to no end. Wish the BIB would do their job and get these dangerous and illegal mods off the road. 1
