Iam starting to think that common sense really is not that common after all – we live in exceedingly stupid times. Exhibit 874: US anti-vaxxers are now urging people to drink their own urine to fight coronavirus. Over the weekend, Christopher Key, the leader of an anti-Covid-19 vaccine group called the “Vaccine Police”, posted videos online extolling the health benefits of what he described as “urine therapy”. According to the wizard of wee, there is “tons and tons of research … [and] peer-reviewed published papers on urine”; so if you do your own pee-search you will discover it is God’s own antidote to Covid-19. “This vaccine is the worst bioweapon I have ever seen,” Key said. “I drink my own urine!” That is not the only questionable thing he does. Key was recently arrested for refusing to wear a mask and filming proceedings during a court hearing. The reason he was in court? He was arrested in April for refusing to wear a mask at a Whole Foods store. In August he made headlines for suggesting that pharmacists should be executed for administering coronavirus vaccines; in December he also set off on a road trip across the US with a fake badge and firearms, in a mission to arrest a Democratic governor over vaccine mandates. Very busy man, our Mr Key! I cannot help thinking that if his name was Mohammed his shenanigans would have had him locked up in Guantánamo Bay by now. Key’s “urine therapy” is far from the only experimental – and highly dubious – Covid “cure” to be promoted during the pandemic. We all remember the former US president’s comments on the benefits of injecting bleach. Last year saw a prolonged bout of Ivermectin-mania. Now, along with urine, the right seems to be fixated on Viagra and colloidal silver. Fox News’s Tucker Carlson, who has repeatedly questioned the efficacy and safety of Covid vaccines, recently dedicated a portion of his show to hyping the potential of Viagra as a potential cure. Carlson seized on the story of a British nurse reportedly recovering from a Covid-19 coma, after being given a dose of Viagra, to sing the little blue pill’s praises. “Is there anything [Viagra] doesn’t cure?” Carlson joked. Yes, I am afraid it does not appear to cure stupidity. Speaking of which, the conservative media personality Candace Owens recently told her social media followers that she takes a “teaspoon a day” of colloidal silver, a product that has also been touted as a Covid cure by the likes of Infowars founder Alex Jones. I am sure I do not need to tell you this but there is zero evidence that colloidal silver can help with Covid. On the contrary, taking too much can turn your skin blue permanently and, in rare cases, can even kill you. Pfizer also is testing hybrid combinations of vaccine to target multiple coronavirus forms, as well as larger doses. The Omicron-specific doses will be created “at risk”, CEO Albert Bourla said, meaning that if they are not needed, Pfizer will absorb the costs. The company has climbed to the lead in global vaccine production with 3 billion doses in 2021 and is planning to produce up to 4 billion doses in 2022. If it turned out to be necessary to roll out an Omicron-targeting vaccine, Pfizer would be ready, Bourla said. “In terms of manufacturing, we have so big of a capacity built right now that it won’t be an issue to switch immediately,” Bourla said. Bourla had disclosed the manufacturing plans at an annual healthcare conference sponsored by JPMorgan Chase but did not provide a number for doses involved. A Pfizer spokesman, Steven Danehy, said in an email on Wednesday AEDT that “we hope to have 50-100 million doses of the Omicron-specific vaccine available by late March/early April.” Rapid development and manufacturing changes are made possible by the new mRNA vaccine technology deployed by Moderna and by Pfizer, with German partner BioNTech. The companies have said it takes about 90 days from genetic sequencing of a new threat to producing a new lipid nanoparticle vaccine containing the updated mRNA payload, which is an extraordinarily fast time frame for vaccine development. I genuinely had actually been joking with a few mates before Xmas i might go and try and catch it over the holidays like a chcikenpox party, get it over and done with, with as less disruption to my life as possible, as gyms were closed over the holidays. Think we had it anyway in early Dec, although the LFT's didn't test positive. Might have been the cold right enough, as the symptoms are so mild and similar now, hard to tell the difference. Anyone now comparing it to smallpox or polio clearly has overdosed on the Gov and media fear. Take whatever precautions you feel like you need, get fully vaxxed, get on with your life, and let others get on with theirs as well. Basically they need to stop counting 'Covid' death's, as due to the amount of people who have caught it, how can anyone say who was actually killed by it?. You die in hospital, from whatever cause, you will be counted, even though you went in for another life threatening ailment, and most likely caught it there. The more people catching it, the more people gonna get classed as a COVID death,so keep restrictions going. It's a vicious circle. A daily average of around 1,700/day out of US population of 332 million doesn't instill much fear, so they bump up the daily average and report a cumulative total over a longer time frame to make for a better, fear inducing headline. And the sheeple eat it up. Instead the reality is, while there remains a huge spike in new infections, deaths remain low. For once I'd like to see a headline that highlights the positive news.
