Toy Boy
Nice pics, thanks. Some years ago, they used to allow you in free of charge (yes, even us LDOP farangs!) on one day of the week if you wore a yellow shirt. Do they still do that, or have they stopped it after the sad passing of Rama 9?

From memory the gist of the posts were that on the particular day the place was absolutely full. I can only find the below on the internet. https://www.tripadvisor.com/LocationPhotoDirectLink-g293916-d5505282-i238775128-Thailand_Tourist_Services_Day_Tours-Bangkok.html which does not really help. forcebwithu
Found this about free admission day. There is one day per year that everyone who wishes to visit may do so for free. On Father’s Day in Thailand, December 5th, if you wish to visit there is no charge at all. On this day, however, there are typically about 1000 monks in attendance and a very large crowd who come to donate food. If you wish to have a more personal visit with time to explore it is recommended to buy a ticket! source: https://pattayaunplugged.com/photo-diary-the-sanctuary-of-truth/

Even in these Covid-stricken times? Nothing would surprise me, lol.

Yeah, that's where I remember seeing it quite a few years ago. Somebody also posted a nice drone's eye view video of the temple, if anyone's interested this one is quite nice, you can see the detail in the roof carvings that it's hard to make out from the ground.
