I was thinking about the old Candlestick Park. I was going to ask you if you have ever been there for a game, or the newer ballpark. I looked it up on google. For Christ sake it is now called Oracle Park. Previously Pacific Bell Park, SBC Park, and AT&T Park. Fcuking nuts !

Mostly there is valley fog aka Tule fog. The main fog season runs April until September. Get chilly in July and August. 4 hours ago, Glasseye said: I was thinking about the old Candlestick Park. I went to Candlestick Park for many Giants games as a kid (general admission was $1.50), and quite a few Niners games, too. Started seeing the 49ers at Kezar Stadium in the late 1960s before they moved to Candlestick. Those games were raucous affairs. I've only been to a couple of Giants games at the new stadium. . . . Some pics... I took these of Willie Mays at Candlestick when I was a kid. The original Candlestick and the expanded version...not far from where I grew up (not my pics): A ticket stub I saved from Kezar Stadium. I was 13yo in 1971...

Buddy I didn't expect that kind of response! Made my day. Willie Mays, Mickey Mantle, and of course Ernie Banks were my earliest heros. I'd give up my right nut for some personal pics of Ernie. I've already given up my left one, three times. I remember going to a game in '69 as a young pup. My folks let me go down to the little front row seat area steps where I could look into the dugout. Back then the Andy Frain usher guys wouldn't make a fuss. I could see clearly into the Cubs dugout. Leo Durocher ("Leo the Lip") was at the top of the dugout steps cussing out the ump. I was in complete awe. Bill Hands was pitching, Randy Hundle behind the plate. One of lifes greatest memories. tko
Overcast down by the beach, but that kept the temperatures down. All of Northern and Eastern Europe were represented there, based on the various languages I overheard.
Glasseye
Nice cool day up here in CM. After 4 days of "overcast" skies (which I did not mind in the least, brought down the temperatures to very nice levels).
fygjam
Same as yesterday max so far. Temp doesn't usually peak until 1pm-2pm. No, the sensor is not sitting on a brick in direct sun. It's under my verandah, well in the shade.
fygjam
Oh well, I have nothing to complain about. Pearce RAAF Base recorded a top of 45.2C just after midday on Thursday, while the Swan Valley reached 45.1C. Elsewhere in the state, the mercury also soared, including in Geraldton where it reached 46.5C.

fygjam
Day 4 of the heatwave. Don't usually reach the max temp until 2-3pm or later. Temp starts dropping tomorrow to the low to mid 30s. Then cranks back up on Wednesday. Fuk!
