Hope everything goes well mate.

Your health is the most important thing to look after.

Thanks for all your wishes…..everything pointed away from something serious like artery blockage. Even had an ultrasound with the jelly. Going back for the treadmill test in 2 weeks, which will be even more conclusive.

I have some awful lifestyle habits that I must break, the pains did coincide with when I got very lazy after temperatures dropped. Could also be panic attacks, even though it seems like my heart feels fine when I’m the most excited, it almost always comes on when I’m doing f—k all.  Could be digestion too…..anyway, I’m going to try and be little more active, sleep a solid 8 hours in a comfortable position with no distractions, spend less time on the couch and maybe chew my food a little longer

Just got back from four nights in Vancouver yesterday, a little shopping and a lot of barhopping; of course it had to snow last night but it's warm enough now that it is all melting off today anyway and I won't even bother clearing most of the yard. My arthritic knee was bothering me the first day or two in YVR but I toughed it out and managed to get a 7 km walk in on my last day there - seems to do better the more I exercise it which is a good sign for the summer because I really need to lose some weight  this year after mostly sitting around and drinking too much beer for the last two years of the covid BS - don't want to travel to Thailand until I can fit back into my tropical shirts and shorts again, lol...

Regarding the panic attacks, used to get them when I was drinking. Anxiety was terrible. Booze cause's a lot more shit than liver disease.

Attacks would come on anytime, had to leave the supermarket once as I had one, vision all over the place as well. Proper scary.

Best thing you can do is stop drinking, made a massive difference to my physical and mental health.

Best advice for anyone mate, glad you're well behind it all now, and some of us (myself included) are starting the journey and appreciate the insight.

Alcohol is a poison, plain and simple.

Sometimes we need people to reach out to, myself included.

The lady from my local addiction center was a Godsend,a non judgemental person there to help you. Couldn't have done it without her. Everyone needs help at some point in their life. Just use the help available.

To add to my previous post, when I posted here about struggling with being laid off, that was the closest I came to relapsing. Called my counselor Sian and told her I was struggling with the lack of purpose in my life. She convinced me to stay sober and not throw the great work away.

Sometimes you just need someone to talk to. Makes a difference to your life.

Watching this goose laying or roasting an egg (didn't check if it was golden).

These geese will pick just about anywhere to drop an egg (this one picked a good spot overseeing the lake). I've seen some of them drop right in the middle of a fucking Walmart parking lot.

Got to be one of the dumbest animals on the planet.

Waiting in an emergency room unfortunately. My chest has been tight for months now, finally got off my arse and saw someone. Unfortunately, we know nothing yet, BP, pulse, blood sample and ECG all look normal. Just did a chest X-ray, which hopefully tells the doctor more, will know within the hour

Take care of yourselves gentlemen, don’t try and be tough guys just to avoid a hospital visit……it might have saved my life at 45 today

Very aggressive too, especially this time of year!

Yes... This one was incredibly stoic. Did not flinch a feather as I walked up to it. Held that frozen position the entire time.

The wild turkeys can get really aggressive. Had one a few years back before I retired that was terrorizing the area. We'd get calls on it every day. Took weeks before it was caught. I think it may have been on roids or something.

About 6 months before my last trip to LOS (I'm guessing it was around April 2019) I had some incredible pains (abdomen area). It was unlike anything I have ever experienced prior. The pain was constant, and prolonged. It was so bad I feared that I was having a heart attack. I got to the point I was more frightened than anything.

Of course... it was Saturday evening (my doctor's office was closed). So... I went to an "urgent care" facility which happened to be within a block of my nearest hospital (full trauma facility). I thought that they could assess and take care of the problem, hopefully saving a few bucks by not going to the emergency room.

Bitches there didn't know what to do. I was in so much pain that I couldn't even walk to the E.R. So... the cunts had to call for an ambulance to transport me less than a block.

3 hours later after countless tests (including an MRI, EKG, two shots of morphine (didn't help a fucking bit), hundreds of dollars down the drain....   they released me saying they couldn't find anything.

The pain was still there, but I was able to get back home. I took some ibupropen, laid down and an hour later the pain was gone. What a cluster f**k. The only thing I could figure was - GAS. f**k me... that was by far the most painful experience of my life.

I was determined to resolve the issue. Went to a "gastro" specialist, got a colonoscopy (2nd one I've had) just to be safe (I was due anyway since my Mom died of colon cancer).

Since then I have been doing yogurt every day. All has been well since then.

f**k

Just arrived home; greeted at Manchester Airport with a temperature on 4 degrees centigrade.

Jeez, that's even colder than the temperature here today; got up to 5C but light snow/hail on and off throughout the day...

Gas can be very uncomfortable - I don't think I have ever quite felt the level of pain you did in this instance, but I do hate that feeling of having a big pocket of gas trapped inside when it just doesn't want to move on...

Best of luck to you buddy.     "Wake up call" I reckon.

You can use this event as a turn around. Not easy, but once you get "on the program" it becomes normal. First couple weeks is a bitch. But, once you get going it's normal and when you begin to see progress and begin to feel better - you will keep on keepin on.

Now's the time bro. You have a lot of good years left. Get with it.

That looks exactly like the breed that hissed at me back in 2014. I had just started walking more that summer in Calgary, and decided to walk to, and around, a large lake in a park. Towards the end of the loop, never failed, was always a dozen+ that would stand up, and protect the family.

Just kept walking……

Woke up this morning with a hail storm hammering against my conservatory roof. Temps over night tonight down to minus 2 again.
