Sat in Udon International wondering how the last 4 weeks have gone by so quickly?

Yeah time goes so quickly especially as you get older. I left my job in October and it has gone so fast.

I was called after 3.5 hrs, not for screening but by a nurse from the Minor Injuries dept. I explained what had happened and showed her the medical certificate I had been given at the hospital on Ko Samui. She said this was the second medical certificate she had been shown today from Thailand, it was from a fella that had had a motorbike accident. She sent me for X-rays and told me to come back to this unit and they would look at them, I was waiting about 1/2 hr to get my X-rays done. So I went back to the unit were there is a small waiting room for you to wait until they have time to look at your X-rays. There was one guy in there waiting with his arm in a sling, turns out it was the guy that had come off his motorbike in Thailand, he had been driving a powerful bike with no helmet on Ko Tao and had suffered a broken arm, cheekbone and eye socket, small world eh! I waited 1 1/2hrs for the nurse to call me to show me the small fracture and explain that she would give me some footwear that would take the pressure of my big toe. So I ended up being there just shy of 6 hrs.

I am glad to know you weren't more seriously injured. Best wishes to you for a quick recovery.

Our County Hospital A&E have a separate triage department, so after you book in at reception, you proceed to the triage area where a specialist nurse takes your details, plus BP etc and if required, they can cut down the wait for doctors to order XRay by sending you for them directly, so they can reduce the time you’re in A&E.

In Watford A & E after about an hour I saw a nurse who took all my details & she said she'd refer me for an X-ray.After another 1.5 hours I went to her & said should I go to X-ray,no she said she hasn't had time to refer me yet.How effing long does it take to do a referral?

That's interesting, I had a bit of a clear out today and was in the car about to go to the tip,  or house holders recycling centre as it's called and I put it in Google maps to remind me where it is and it said it's closed.

You know the saying if it's to good to be true it probably is,and I am sceptical, however it's literally a couple o quid,so will see.

From tiktok shop, lots of bargains,it's a shop I've never looked at till now, kinda like the crap yet find on lazada from China, that seems to be where a lot of stuff comes from, least socks from UK.

They'll probably leave it as is, once calcification starts to take hold after a week or so (bone begins to fuse back together). Keep the pressure off it, take the anti inflams and don't do any Morris dancing.

I busted 2 metatarsals a week before my holiday to thailand a few years ago, but went anyway and walked everywhere with a limp for 2 weeks, came home, got an X ray only to be told it was busted but is repairing nicely, here's a crutch and a spastic boot to wear, and good luck and f**k off.

I missed the post on how it happened mate...where is it?.

The NHS is totally f***** mate, my sister could'nt get a doctors appt so as she was in pain she went to A&E and waited 8 hours to be seen, just as well she did as her problem was quite serious. All sorted now thankfully.

Just back from buakau market drenched in sweat the pool looks extremely inviting

I was awake early as usual this morning after a good night's kip.... or so I thought...apparently I was driving in my sleep according to M'lady.. Her impression of me dream-driving was quite funny given that she can't drive !!!!!!!!

I hit Fascino at 8am but their prices were more expensive than a little shop near Det Udom market. I then went to the Post Office but they don't do forwarding of mail so I'll keep my PO Box open till the New Year and slowly do a COA to everybody that uses it. I then went to my old pharmacy opposite Natural Hotel but it has been refurbished under new owners and is no longer the cheapest pharmacy in town. No problem cos I was only there to compare prices to Det Udom.

We then went to the market to buy a load of vests. All 100 Baht each but was too tired to try knocking them down to 80 baht, besides I don't mind helping them out rather than bartering over pennies..

Back to the hotel heavily laden with food, vests and caps for a short snoooooze before heading up to Siamburis to load up with non perishables...

My daughter is heading down from Bangkok so all my freetime will now be spent with her and M'Lady...

Life is good !

Once I was staying with my dad overnight at the hospital. He was recovering from some surgery. They gave him Ambien to help him with sleep.

He got up in the middle of the night. He started to do laundry and was ironing his shirts. I couldn't help but to watch the show. lol

Finally I yelled at him. He looked at me all pissed off and climbed back into bed.

Fcuking funny as hell, the s.o.b. I wish I had recorded it.

If you want, and if the P.O. allows it, I can swing by on occasion and grab any mail for you. I'll send you a PM with pictures of the unopened mail and you can decide if there's anything important enough to forward on to you. If urgent, I could, with your permission, open and email a scan of the contents to you as well.

The Force.... You are all World ! Very nice offer.

I use a mail forwarding service back in the U.S. for this. I would guess that they have similar services here for relatively low costs.

That is an excellent offer.... I'm not really expecting anything once I have sent Change of Addresses to the two remaining Insurance companies that use it. I have already sent them Emails this morning.

Thanks!

Yes the number of deaths of Morris dancers have gone off the charts in the last 20 years.
They aren’t actually dying from the dancing, but are dying from head injuries when members of the audience take their wooden sticks and beat them severely about their heads. 🤪
