  2. He was born in 1908 one of 9 children and life was different back then living in a small village in Cornwall. He never drank much, just the odd half pint of beer, but gave that up in his late 40’s along with smoking. Always ate healthy, home cooked food and always walked everywhere if he could. Different breed back then I suppose. Total opposite of how many people live today.

  9. I think your table from Pacific Cross is intended for annual coverage and satisfies the NEW health requirements ( in reference to Covid-19 ) as well as satisfying the long stay visa requirements of those living in Thailand. The table I have shown ( which LMG is the insurer for ) is intended for folks arriving on a tourist visa and a relatively short stay. My wife is an insurance agent and has been for more than 15 years. She represents Pacific Cross as well as most of the larger insurance providers. She also sells the plan you have illustrated, but tells me Pacific Cross also have other plans which are cheaper than the illustration you posted. However in her opinion the the My Travel Cover plan is the most cost effective for anyone visiting as a tourist. I am by no means an expert on this, and if anyone wants any further details they can contact her directly on 0917642333 or by email on [email protected]. Her English is very good. Interestingly I asked her about IPD or OPD, and she has checked with the insurer who said the Government doesn't specify either, although Covid-19 would never be treated as OPD.

  11. Been watching a 4 hour vid on youtube of carp fishing. It's a pay per month channel that released this free as a taster to get you to pay. Very well done but I refuse to pay as there is so much stuff out there for free right now.

  12. Yes, our son was born in 2010, so he did get to spend quite a few years with his grandad, as we moved to a house a couple of miles from him when we moved back from Thailand. He also had a lot of great, great, grandchildren, mostly in Australia.

  14. I find it ludicrous that UK don't have Thailand on the quarantine exempt list, bearing mind the number of new infections and deaths in Thailand, compared to say Spain (15 deaths today) and Italy, (17 deaths today). Also Dubai, or more correctly UAE, with no deaths reported today and only 317 in total. I have a couple of mates living in Dubai who were planning to come back on July 10th, but obviously won't now. While I'm a Tory through and through, the government's handling of the whole travel/quarantine issue throughout this entire lockdown has been worse than pathetic. It's an utter shambles and while I loathe that little ginger haired woman north of the border she was quite right today to call the UK government's handling of this issue shambolic. The Welsh first minister said exactly the same.

  17. Rawtenstall v Bacup 1949. Everton Weekes made 74 and the follow on video can be found whilst watching the one I've posted. Another Bacup player, Stanley Entwistle, was the caretaker at the junior school I attended back in the 70s. Woe betide you if he caught you on school premises playing football during the holidays. Cricket however was a different matter. He loved it. I didn't realise until years later what a great cricketer he had been. Love these old nostalgic film's.

  18. A legend up here in East Lancashire. Especially Bacup where he was their professional playing in the Lancashire league. I'll dig out an old video when he played for Bacup v Rawtenstall. There must have been 8000 in the ground. I would have loved to have watched local cricket back then.

  19. Your wish is my command. There is info on all the quarantine hotels on the PR Dept.'s Facebook page, but I'll post the details of the "quarantine packages" for those BMs who don't use Facebook. Evil EDIT IN- More to come after breakfast.

  20. You totally miss my point which is no surprise to me at all. When will you ever learn that the way that your style of responding to members who make a post that you disagree, or they have disagreed with you, is all too often just rude and invites confrontation. Grayray puts that down to the fact that English is not your first language. I do not believe that for a minute as your command of the English language is at least as good as most native English speakers on the forum. No, you just think you are always right and have this need to have the last word.

  31. There has been a ban on international tourists now for months, but almost every barowner on FB is reporting that the first 2 nights have been really busy. In fact one barowner said that town was rocking. Some things just don't add up. 🤔

  39. I’ve been consistently saying I’m not going anywhere this year. Getting sick to death of this working from home shit, thinking of asking if they will allow me to work from home abroad, could then hole up somewhere in Thailand and work 3-11pm Thai time. Would probably use the daytime more constructively than my current slobbing out on the sofa and boozing each evening 😒
