The old Cheers bar Pattayaland 13/4 turning into something new. That was my first regular hangout starting in 2001. 8528349cc432e28186b34054ba4c4db5.jpg

I probably have met you then.

Colin is my brother-in-law and I spent nearly everyday in the bar for a year from late 2001.

How is Colin? Last time I saw him we were in a quiz a couple of years ago in a bar near there.

One of my favourite hangouts since it opened in 1988.If you see him pls give him regards & best wishes from Coxy & Nid.

He is going OK.

Saw him in February at his house over on the darkside, He flew back to Wales for a month or so but should be back in Pattaya now I think.

Never knew the owner but spent a lot of time in there, early 2000’s.

And used to get subs from the Beachcomber next door.

Sugar Shack and Kennel as well.

First time I tried the American delicacy of "shit on a shingle" was from the Beachcomber.

Never had to leave Cheers to have a feed as they had menus from Palmers, Blue Parrot, Beachcombers and New Orleans cafe.

It was a great no hassle place to have a beer.I used to play darts for them whenever I was in town but I gather Stan is not very well now.

Colin was a great host....even if he did give me shit lol.

Yes I played in the Mickey Mouse darts comp on Friday nights with them.

Porn and Stan now live in Chiang Rai. I need to ask my wife what the latest is with Stan healthwise. Colin gave me a lot of advice when I lived there for a year in 2001/2002. Sad to see Nee pass with cancer and my wife took her sister's death quite hard.

My mum loved sitting out the front of Cheers reading a book and watching the world go by.

thegrogmonster,

I used to play for the Rising Sun darts and Pub Quiz teams back 96/97 was Cheers the place where we played upstairs?

I remember Cheers,Palmers, The Londoner, the Place in soi Dianne think the owner was dannish and the place on soi Buahhao before it was like it is now at a bar that was blow the level of the road, the bloke who had the place had a very beautiful stepdaughter, the first time we played, there we was all perving on her till he told us she was only 14 and what he would do if any bloke got out of order with her, shit he was a fit looking bastard.

I loved that time in my life, Kevin and Malcolm the gaffers of the Rising Sun where great blokes,i lived upstairs for 8mths loved my time there,

"Oh! they where the times my friend"

Yes Cheers had the bar on ground level and on the next level up was the pool room where darts and quiz were held.
