The owner, Todd Anderson, 59, of Acampo, Calif., was arrested on Tuesday and charged with identity theft, forging government documents, falsifying medical records and having a loaded unregistered handgun, Tori Verber Salazar, the San Joaquin County district attorney, said in a statement this week. Agents from the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control began their investigation into Mr. Anderson after they received a complaint stating that fake cards were being sold at his business, the Old Corner Saloon in Clements, Calif., which is about 40 miles southeast of Sacramento. In April, undercover agents were able to buy fraudulent cards four times, the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control said. The cards were sold for $20 each, according to the district attorney’s office. Fake vaccination record cards have become a growing problem during the pandemic, according to the authorities. The NHS app will be ready to be used as a digital vaccine passport in time for passengers to go on their summer holidays from May 17, Grant Shapps, the Transport Secretary, announced Friday night. NHSX, the digital arm of the service, is racing to enable the app to be used by holidaymakers to prove that they are fully vaccinated when they arrive at their destination once the ban on travel is lifted from May 17. There have been fears of delays as sources have reported difficulties over verifying the identity of the app’s user and the need to create a separate secure database of people’s vaccination data. Its operation is vital because it means British holidaymakers will be able to sidestep expensive PCR tests on arrival in most countries. At least 20 countries including green-listed Portugal have already indicated that they will accept vaccination certificates as an alternative to PCR tests for holidaymakers to prove their Covid status. Not wanting to take this thread off topic too much; I think the irony is that if you were using an iPhone to take the photographs no one would bat an eyelid; totally different when you use a camera particularly a DSLR or mirrorless. Jambo Posted May 12, 2021 Share Posted May 12, 2021 Scotland has just adopted the same "traffic light" system as England and lifted the requirement for full quarantine (1,750 pounds) at a designated hotel for ALL arrivals. The above means I can visit my family and simply self isolate at one of my daughter's homes. Could be an extended stay if I cannot get back. They finally gave up trying to visit me and took full refunds on their flight tickets.
