Your reply came from a direct quote that I took from your post number 3810

There is no ambiguity about that statement, no matter how you try to twist it. Also I do not appreciate the Ad Hominem attack -- play nice or take yourself to feck.

I'll try and dumb it down but I've never written for those who's ability to comprehend may be challenged so I may not succeed.

Basically there are two types of masks.

One type protects other people from the wearer. It is of the "surgical" type. It limits the distance and spread of droplets and aerosols exhaled by the wearer. Such a mask does NOT provide any protection to the wearer. You may be required to wear such a mask by law or regulation etc. You may be required to wear such a mask as a condition of entry to private or commercial premises. There may be a community expectation that you wear this type of mask. In other words, the choice to wear such a mask is out of your hands and only the arrogance (or feelings of unmanlyness or cowardice) of some is why they don't wear a mask.

Personally I would not have any problems wearing this type of mask for any of the above reasons although where I am at present none of the circumstances which require the wearing of a mask apply so I don't wear one. Similarly, if none of those circumstances apply to anyone else, then don't wear one.

The second type of mask is one which protects the wearer by filtering the air that is inhaled by the wearer. The need to wear this type of mask can be up to the individual although I suspect that for certain people, e.g. doctors, nurses dealing with Covid-19 patients, wearing such a mask may be compulsory. Again, where I am, as there currently is no (or minimal) risk of exposure to Covid-19, I don't wear one. But if I was using public transport in some of the other cities around the world, for example, I probably would.

As the world opens up again there may be more requirements to wear one or the other type of mask. e.g. travelling on an aircraft may require passengers wear some sort of mask.

This is a civilised forum where all opinions are welcome.

I wasn't the only one warned ... but just quoting a news story on neurological damage from covid...you were the one who by definition said you had covid  and were  going out to contaminate people

Have you got some bleach or hydroxychloroquine ?...I'm just  thinking of ways to try and mimimise your evident cerebral damage

You don't need to thank me..all part of the 247 help a boardie in distress program

Yes, for some reason or other some are still in denial and want to think it's just the flu.

Masks are useless....... Says so right on the freaking box!!

What more proof is needed?

This is the mask about 80-90% of the people wear in Thailand...

So is mask wearing based on good science or Theater?

SOME MASKS are useless like those, but others do help prevent the transmission of the virus.

I could easily be wrong. However as, I mentioned, if you were to cough or sneeze wearing a mask, then the projectile of saliva would be muted by the mask. That's the idea anyway

The only downside to that of course is that you may end up with a mask full of mucus for the day. A bit like shitting your pants.

Best to carry a spare😁😁

Don't bother trying to "dumb down" your posts for my benefit, as my "ability to comprehend" is most certainly not challenged by the bullshit you are spouting.

I fully understand the various types of masks available and their particular usage, as I have previously posted on this thread. KLM/Air France have already started with compulsory face masks while boarding and during the journey. Compulsory in my eyes means I have to comply or not fly. If it was not compulsory I would take the decision not to wear one, totally MY choice.

I posted "Up To You" and said I would not wear a mask, then you had a go at me in a personal attack for not wearing and now you tell us you DO NOT wear a mask ??? So which applies to you -- is it arrogance, feelings of unmanlyness, cowardliness or all of the above ??

There's more neurological damage done to people locked in than a little flu virus could ever cause.

Well said. Seems if you don't agree with certain individuals opinions they try to suppress yours.

Masks are a joke, people walking around here wearing b&q jobs, 20 pack for a tenner😂😂😂

And Spain going to make mask wearing compulsory inside and outside according to bbc news. Can f**k right off with that idea.

UK government making track and trace for school kids. Well, mine won't be back if that's the case. Treating people like fucking clowns.

I understand that there are different masks but you do not have to be a condescending smart arse if others have a different view to yours.

My comment that you should maybe change your board name to ...Weather.... as you continually change your tune is based on your posts..... very easy for you to review them.

cheers

I presume that is covid 19 in red at the top of the graph

Yes it is. Of special note is the difference in daily death rate between c19 and seasonal flu/pneumonia rates. This ain't your ordinary flu, yet some on here think it is.

"Ford Motor, which restarted its North American assembly plants this week, said on Wednesday that it stopped production temporarily at two plants in Chicago and Dearborn, Mich., after employees tested positive for the coronavirus..."
