We did a repeat "family" visit to the "Amata" restaurant which is probably the best one (of many) in Mae Sot although we had to sit inside due to thunder. That was a shame as they have a really lovely garden with lots of tables. Once again I had their signature main dish of BBQ Ribs which were exceptionally meaty and really tasty. Sai followed me but still sampled most of the Thai dishes which kept arriving. The whole evening cost me 100 baht as my contribution to the tip for the staff. The bill itself was paid for by the Thai government with Sai's sister using her App that collects the Covid hand out. 😀8 points

Thanks mate. I think, for me anyway, its the silence that comes along for not hearing any cars, bikes or trucks anywhere. The warm temps and sunshine certainly helped as well.2 points

Seeing the City Barge makes me think my last time there was in the early 70s when I walked in wearing royal blue knee high platform boots with a 4 inch heel. Actually sold to me by Freddie Mercury from a concession in Kensington Market. Been back to the area many times since but normally hit the Bell and Crown or the Bulls Head. A lovely walk indeed but I usually start my route from Kew Bridge Station.1 point

Did quite a bit of work in the garden yesterday, cut the grass and drained the fish pond down and dragged the lillies out. Cleaned the bottom as much as I could but it really needs a total drain. I refilled with just enough water to cover the shelf and will make a decision on a total drain after the filter has done it's thing. Hopefully it will clean the small amount of water and I won't need to do anymore maintenance. I am off out this morning for a few hours in the boat pike fishing with a mate. My body is in bits from yesterdays work but I can't pass the chance by. So it's a couple of co-codimol down the hatch and man up as Code would say.1 point

Magnet Fishing at River Aire. Up to this week I had never heard of magnet fishing. Had a short conversation with these chaps; they say occasionally they 'catch' something of value but that is rare. They have an arrangement with a local scrap metal dealer; towards the end of their session they will ring and he will come and take whatever metal they have retrieved. Lots of YouTube videos on the subject. Quite popular parts of USA and Amsterdam.1 point

Canadians have the same deal as viewers in the US. We don’t get Better Call Season 5 on Netflix until later, but it is available on amc.com or via their app.1 point

Samsong has been good enough to respond. Agree of course with his comments but will throw in a couple of my own. The results unequivocally show that if you do contract COVID after being vaccinated you don't become seriously ill. I'd hypothesise, that this means you are carrying a smaller load of the virus, and as such will be infectious for a shorter period of time. This combined with say in a fall in transmission by even 30%, will send the virus backwards. All will be revealed with so many in the UK being vaccinated. There will be vast amounts of live data to feed into all the studies ongoing into COVID. Am still just amazed by the speed of the vaccination roll out. Three mates of mine, all living in separate parts of the country were all vaccinated yesterday. 800k+ in a single day, incredible. Happier days😀1 point

Astra/Zeneca in deemed safe by UK and EU regulators shocker! Who's a guessed that one! Their politicking will have already, and will continue to cost lives. EU continuing to show exactly what they're all about, so glad we're out!1 point
