Looks like a great evening of music.  I'm jealous,  live music scene here is absolute shite.

Have three music venues in Reading, a 20 minute train journey that costs £5 return.

Whole night cost about £30.

Hopefully not speaking too soon, but mine feels a lot better. Mind you, I did have a TENS machine thumping away on it for several hour last night...

Good luck!

Dentist said my toothache is being caused by my sinuses being blocked. That goes along with it starting at about the same time a rotten head cold started last week.Have to get some Basoil drops to inhale & if it doesn't go away go see the GP.

Coming back from the pharmacy I  had to pass the (ex)pub where we used to flog Thai grub,it's now a fitness centre & cafe/restaurant.Well I missed brekkie this morning as I had an early dentist appointment so the temptation was too much.

Really nice full English, just a pity they close at 4pm as they've quite an extensive menu & with 'er indoors in Thailand it would be ideal for an evening meal.

This house was built in 1995 & they must've had the world's worst plumbers on the job,we've been here for 16 years & I've lost count of the amount of leaks we've had.

Plumbing issues can be absolute and total nightmares.

Few years back had a water leak in a ceiling of my condo, second bedroom.

Long story short.....  After tearing out the drywall to get to the leak discovered tiny fracture in piping. I then learned those types of leaks were somewhat common in the development where I lived. I also learned that there are different grades of piping that a builder can use. The lower quality stuff can develop small cracks over time.

So, it's possible that you can replace the section where the current leak is.... But... then you find yourself wondering when and where the next one will pop up as the shit piping runs through most of the condo.

Bastards went cheap. They knew by the time the leaks started pissing they'd be long gone. f***d over a lot of people.

Just got an email to confirm my wife's GHIC (Global Health Insurance Card) has been approved. She had one before, but as it has expired she needed to renew it. It is valid for the duration of her UK Spouse Visa.

As a family, we all have the cards, which could be useful if we have a hiccup in Greece in a few months time.  It is just a benefit to have to help if small issues arise while in the resort area. Of course, we all have proper Travel Insurance as well but no harm in having the Global Health card as it treats you similar to a resident if needing medical assistance.

Another thing done today, is paying for Lounge Access at Helsinki airport before my flight to Bangkok in September.

After seeing the new rules on fares, awards etc., I believe our family may not readily use Finnair again, so utilised 6000 miles of the 18000 miles left over to purchase a Lounge Access pass. Can be used anytime in next 12 months, but as it is only to be used for my September flight I have already added it to my booking.

Allows 3 hours max, which is fine, as I will be at the airport 3 hours before departure so once through priority check in and fast track I should have plenty of time to indulge in what is on offer. Probably have some healthy foods and drink and hit the bar a bit heavier once on board.

Yes, his post just prompted me to have a look at our EHIC cards, they ran out 3 days ago!

Just applied for the new ones, straightforward, took all of 5mins for all 3 of us.

Yes, i normally any 'teeth work' done in Thailand. Had a crown done, and always cleaning.

But kept myself registered with a NHS dentist nearby just incase like you i wake up with a raging toothache one morning.

I went to them about 18months ago, just to get a check up and pay them private for cleaning as couldn't get to Thailand for a while due to Covid. They said i hadn't been there since 2016, there was a huge backlog, wouldn't see me, try again in a year or so.

So was just passing today, tried my luck, they again said i hadn't been there since 2016. I said yea, i had tried 18months ago, but told try again in a couple of years. Guy was okay, got an appointment for a check up tomorrow, and he confirmed that will be me 'back on the books' so to speak. Mental trying to get a NHS dentist, none taking anyone on, you have to ring 111 and get sent wherever. So i'll pay the £25 NHS check up fee with pleasure tomorrow.

Oh, and he asked me was it okay that it's a female dentist? I said of course, thought to myself they should stop pandering to these Religious zealots. But more chance of me getting seen if the local hardcore Jews and Muslims won't get seen by a female. Hope she's a honey!

She was a very nice Turkish Dentist, i googled her when i left, been working in London over 20 years.

Going back next week to see her again get a deep clean, but don't think i'll go for the full 'Turkey Teeth'

Just drinking some coffee before the taxi arrives at 8:00am local time here. Heading back to Calif for a 50th re-union, should be good. I have already been e-mailed that I am "winning the award" for who came the farthest for this adventure. I have a week without wifey, then she shows up next week as she is going to Malaysia for a wedding and flys out tomorrow. I can't believe the number of messages I have received about this re-union from people telling me they can't wait to see me??  Who fucking cares? Some of the people that have sent me these messages ( mostly women of course) after seeing them on FB, good lord, have another donut!  I am normally not outspoken LOL!

For you guys that live here, be careful, an incredibly, brutal hot spell is here for the next 5 days. 40c today in Bangkok?

Gorgeous day here today, officially 25C but my  deck thermometer shows closer to 30; a little breeze to stir the air and the leaves are coming out on the trees with that first vivid green - a shame that I still have two nights to work on this shift but the forecast is the same for the next few days. Here's a shot I took at 1230AM last night, the near light is from the amber streetlight above me but you can see how much light is still left in the sky:

I'd love to know how that goes. I had one half (top and bottom - right side) done about 2 months ago and it took weeks for the pain to go away. This was at Dental Smile with the specialist from Bangkok Pattaya Hospital so she was no cowboy but by f**k did it hurt ..

When I went back last week for a chipped tooth I told my regular dentist that I want her to do a general clean on the remaining half when I get back from UK. f***d if I'm having that specialist again !!!

I'm back home across in the slums. Only one dead cockroach on my floor, so all is good.

I've done a swirl of my 8 x 5 litre brews to stir up any active yeast laying on the bottom. Any ones that are clear by next week I will bottle and fridge, the rest will wait until I get back. Interestingly enough the tomato juice brew hasn't "separated" so it'll be like drinking lumpy condensed tomato soup ... mmm yummy ...

It's 7 months since my last fishing trip to France.

We are going to a new venue so it is difficult to take enough gear for all eventualities, but still have room in the van for two lots of gear!

Both myself and my mate tend to take too much with us and it's an art form fitting it all in.

Usually I forget to take something, just hope it's a nice to have and not a oh shit, where can I buy one in France.

I woke up this morning remembering something I left out that I definitely will need, will probably do the same tomorrow. LOL.

Apart from food and bait, both frozen, so will go into the cool box just before I leave, I am waiting for the tumble dryer to finish so that I can put a cloths and wash bag together. Try not to forget my tooth brush too!

Got the grass cut yesterday and have left the pond filter to be cleaned this afternoon.

Hopefully it won't rain.

Picking my daughter up from school today I saw something I didn't expect to see.

I live in quite a rural area in the valley but seeing a dead grass snake wasn't something I had seen before. Seen loads in Asia but probably my first experience of seeing one in UK.

Kataleya was excited and sad to see it.
