  2. I can understand how the Brits may feel better not to seek recompense, as this is Thailand, and you may win the battle but you won't win the war. If one of them did hit a bar girl, it might be that their getting away in one piece is far preferable to paying big bucks to a female employer; , it's also a better option than pursuing compensation for any injuries etc., only to end up paying out more in penalties to third parties. If they also seek more justice than is being meted out, already, to the security guards, they may not sleep well in their rooms until leaving the country. The media will pursue the truth, the security guards will be reprimanded but little else will happen. This is Thailand, different culture, different expectations, a completely different set of rules and a need to save face.
  3. Absolutely no issue. I think most people (with some brain cells) already keep their seatbelt on, except for when they visit the toilets. I never take mine off on a short haul flight, in fact I don't even put the seat back. On a long haul flight it is easy to tell everyone to keep their seat belt on at all times but there is obviously going to need to be dispensation for people needing to visit the toilets. It may be that crew will have to tell people who are not visiting the toilets that they must return to their seats. You will get some who will cry 'rights; but probably a few Karens who will always be a problem. Maybe they will start giving out notices that need to be signed as part of the ticket process, or onboard, that will disclaim any responsibility for injury by the airline if the person is not wearing a seatbelt, while seated, if an event occurs. The airlines will need to protect themselves but as long as drinks are served, meals are served and people need to go to the toilet you can not protect every eventuality. I think though, after these well publicised incidents, most passengers will understand the requirement for a seat belt to be worn at all times. Only an idiot wouldn't.
  4. Sorry. Head kicking when someone is down, out of it and not resisting is totally and completely unacceptable. It is grounds for at minimum an aggravated Battery charge. People can debate this until the cows come home. But failure to follow up by the Brits is complete stupidty. Failure of the certain authorities to hold the security folks accountable for outrageous use of force should not be tolerated. This story deserves every bit of press that is coming out, without question.
  5. Oddly this is @Nightcrawlers favourite karaoke song which he sings when visiting boyztown.
  6. The captain already tells everyone to do that .... more people will probably comply I always have wear mine and if he hits the seatbelt sign on , I tighten it further ....
  7. In the sense that refusing to obey an instruction from the Cabin Crew it is, isn't it?. Maybe instead issued as an advisory notice (which it is already I guess) but delivered a bit more "strongly".
  8. Not enforceable, so that won't happen.
  9. I'm going to throw this into the mix now - Will we see mandatory seatbelt wearing apart from bathroom / stretching visits for pax in the future?. It may well be a knee jerk reaction, but maybe a "if you're seated belt must be on" instruction?. How would BM's feel about that?. (wouldn't really bother me as I have mine on anyway)
  10. Today
  11. Maybe still drunk or licking their wounds. As @Krapow mentioned earlier, this happens occasionally but it just seems that in this case it's been filmed, made the Daily Mail and is all over Reddit etc. All this over 2k is the thing I can't really fathom - that's like less than £50 for an afternoon drinking surrounded by pussy for not just one guy, but 2 or 3. I understand booze impairs judgement, but even so. I had a few trips down Soi 6 in April and found the atmosphere to be pretty chilled and fun, and tbh didn't actually notice any security in most of the bars anyway.
  12. I hope the guy, who got the severe head kicking, seeks medical intervention just to make sure his injuries are not likely to develop into something more serious. Delayed serious medical problems can occur some time after the initial trauma. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-25548459
  13. Surprised they walked from Soi 6 ? Would have thought a Baht Bus at least was on the cards to celebrate still being alive ?? Where they were on the 6 was pretty close to BR end of Soi 6 etc. Glad no one died.

  17. A mate and I were trying to work out where that footage was from but ruled out 2nd Road as there's 2 way traffic. Turns out from the comments in the video it's Klang, just a few feet west of 2nd Road. There's a host of cameras just outside the police box at the junction.
  18. I completely agree. The problem with that solution is that the PC needs to be running to watch TV, inconvenient at the least. I think I would get a Raspberry Pi for that. An additional advantage of that solution is that you can run Pi-Hole on it at the same time, significantly cutting down ads and malware. EDIT: see https://zone13.io/post/raspberry-pi-vpn-gateway-for-nordvpn/ EDIT2: On second thought, that VPN gateway may be unnecessary, using an Unbound server may already suffice, as I suspect that Thai ISPs block on url, not on IP address. The easiest way to do that is a Raspberry Pi with Pi-Hole and either Unbound or a non-Thai DNS provider like Cloudflare or Google. However, this is getting too technical for remote assistance with somebody with limited computer knowledge.
