I don't have a problem with them. When in UK visited a couple of restaurants where they had put the food (fish/chicken) on top of the chips, causing them to go soggy. Many years ago i requested it in my local Thai restaurant in the UK, it proved so popular that they added it to the menu, maybe not authentic Thai but puts a most lovely 'twist' to a Penang.
