Climber Nirmal Purja posted a picture on Instagram of the heavy human traffic on the mountain Wednesday, showing a dense trail of climbers huddling on an exposed ridge to the summit. Yessongs Posted May 24, 2019 Posted May 24, 2019 I think I read a few days ago, that one has already died trying to summit this year so far. He was a Dr here in America with a wife and 4 kids I believe. Takes some real balls to want to do this.....would not be for me.

Read earlier they had issued 381 climbing permits for this spring at £8600 each,so a nice earner,plus the money the sherpa's earn,other expenses etc. One of the comments was 'It used to be for experienced climbers only,now its just another holiday experience'. Plus the amount of rubbish left behind is turning it in to a shithole. 1

Went (walked) on the slopes on an slowly erupting one in La Réunion island (Indian Ocean) with lava slowly moving around 100 m away.... But I was a bit younger than now .
