Popular Post Britboy
Such sad news to wake up to this morning. He was my boyhood hero and as a real youngster Spurs were my team, because of him and Gilzean. The G men. What great goals he scored, I remember two he scored against Liverpool at WHL, one direct from a corner, the other the highest lob I've ever seen when Lawrence was off his line and Jimmy lobbed him from about 40 yards. I posted my little autograph book to Tottenham when I was about 8. It took a few weeks, but came back full of autographs, including Jimmy's. It made my year and I still have that little book. Mike England signed it about 4 times . . 😁 When I was a little older I started going to Portman Road, so became an Ipswich fan, but Jimmy was still my hero. He spoke to me once when we were playing Spurs at Portman Road. This was in the days when they allowed kids to actually sit round the edge of the pitch. I was at the corner flag and he came over to take a corner. He stepped backwards to get a run up and stood on my hand - ouch. "Sorry sonny" he said. This news this morning brought a tear to my eyes. Rest in Peace Jimmy, you'll always be my hero. 6

Well done for providing the service ...... in both senses of the word!

Started back in 74-75 I think. 🏆👍
