Just relaxing after dropping Kataleya off at school.

Yesterday started at 4.15am when I woke up, in car at 5am for the 3.5 hours trip to Heathrow where breakfast was eaten at Premier Inn. Into town via Heathrow tube and off to the Greek Visa Centre where Porn's appointment at 1.30pm saw her dealt with at 3.45pm and out the door at 3.55pm. Old Street to Kings Cross, change to Piccadilly Line and got back to the Premier Inn at Heathrow at 5.45pm after waiting for 20 mins for a bus at Heathrow central area. On road by 6.15 after toilet stops in hotel and paying the £15 parking. Got home at 9.55pm where a cup of tea was priority and then shower. In bed by 2230 for 8.5 hours sleep.

TIP: If ever taking the Piccadilly Line from London to Heathrow for terminals 2/3 don't take the train that says Terminal 4 and Terminal 2/3 on the front unless there is not a Terminal 2/3 and 5 train within 10 minutes. Got to Terminal 4 and basically the train terminates there, gets the cleaner coming around and a change of driver. 12 minutes later we departed for terminals 2/3.

Would normally stay overnight in London when needing to visit Thai Embassy or a European Visa Centre, but when Premier Inn are asking £97.50 and Travelodge are asking £125, I thought a day trip was the order of the day. Tiring but saving that hotel charge felt good after arriving back home. Odd at these high hotel charges; last summer in August, I paid £39 for a Premier Inn room at Heathrow. This is June, what's happening.

Easy day today.

I managed to get the grass cut yesterday afternoon, which had grown around 8 inches in 3 weeks, took advantage of the strengthening pound and transferred some wonga to my Thai bank account.

Paid the road tax on my motor, which always grates me given the state of some of our roads.

Did a bit of essential shopping at Tescos, got very little for 70 quid. Prices really have shot up.

Walked 3 miles in the glorious sunshine.

Managed to get to bed at a reasonable time and slept until 9am which gets me back into my normal sleep pattern.

That has taken 3 days, but have not felt tired so not too sad.

Need to clean my pond filter today and try to walk a bit further.

I've just finished sucking off 10 litres of red and filtering off the pulp from the tomato juice brew. All that is retrieved from the original 10 litres is 2 litres which I back sweetened with maple syrup and Worcester sauce.

As usual my thapthim (pomegranate) is the best followed by the apple.. but between me and the neighbours it is nearly all gone already !!

It was the same for me regarding Premier Inn pricing. I'm popping over to the UK for a trip to the Lake District end of July and needed something near to the outskirts of Manchester as I arrive at the airport appx 11pm.

My go to Premier Inn at Prestwich was £98 for one night!!! This was booked in April. so well in advance.

Managed to clean the pond filter and do a little weeding this afternoon.

Real nice in the sun, so went for a walk, was hoping to do a long one, but felt quite weak as I came around my 3 mile loop, so headed home.

Now showered up and relaxing in front of the TV for the night.

Sweltering. Forgot the electric company had warned us power would be out today while they worked on the lines. So instead of being able to write code in A/C comfort on my triple monitor setup, I'm working off my laptop screen with my phone as an internet hotspot and a small USB fan plugged into a power bank trying to keep me somewhat cooled.

Getting ready to go to bed earlier than usual…..Kind of last minute but decided to attend Grand Prix practice in the morning

I've only every been to one Grand Prix and that was at Brands Hatch. Even then the cars were going too fast to enjoy the race.... At least it was better than the Malaysian F1 that I experienced in KL with everybody screaming, shouting and the commentator going crazy watching cars parked on the circuit for 30 minutes in pouring rain. The excitement was something to do with pit stops and tyres apparently ..

Second only to watching Poole Pirates speedway ( Ivan Mauger etc) .. how fucking boring is that? First to the first corner wins.. which is always the inside rider... Although I guess I should be proud to say that I saw Ivan Mauger race live..!

Just got off the phone to the police, woke up to find my new car stolen from outside our flat. Bastards must have got in through the back because they left the parcel shelf for me.It was a top of the range Fiesta Titanium.

Easy day today.

The whole of July's appointments just 'dropped' on the VFS Finland site.

I could get an appointment any week day from Monday 3rd onwards.

But we fly to Thailand on the evening on the 19th July. If i booked 3rd it should be enough time, they told me before it takes 2 weeks. But why would i want to put myself through the stress of waiting on the passport coming back!

It was just a trial thing, to see when they dropped, if it was the full  month etc. I'll wait on August's dropping middle of July, book for a day or so for after we get back 9th August. We don't go to Turkey until end of October.

Sorted!

Yup, pointless putting yourself through the ringer when you have better options.

I have to renew my passport sometime over the next year,  but have a fairly full schedule of trips.

Decided to do it after my last fishing one and before my winter adventures.

Unfortunately that will mean I won't be able to book a flight until the last minute,  which will probably incur more cost.
