Agreed regarding BPH. I used Dr Donna in February, can't say the experience was a total success as I had to chase them for my results but TIT and all that.🙄 Her place is around Soi 39 about a 15 min walk from the nearest sky train.

I may be wrong but I thought I read somewhere that BPH has effectively set up two testing areas in their car park one for those feeling unwell and showing symptoms and another for those who have no symptoms but presumably want "peace of mind" or more likely a "fit to fly" confirmation like Terry's friend. I gained the impression that it did not take long for them to confirm the positive test result. Anyway, I have always gained the impression that BPH are more interested in making money first and providing health care second. If they have a monopoly in providing "fit to fly" confirmations that sounds extremely worrying to me. The only test acceptable for "fit2fly" as far as I'm aware. Thanks for that and it at least gives me another option. I had an issue with BPH too a few years back but luckily a mate got there and got me out before I got milked any worse than it already was.

If flying to the UK, the entry requirements require either a PCR, LAMP, antigen or nucleic acid test so one of the others might be easier to obtain. USA requirements are similar. For a while however, some airlines (and maybe transit countries) had their own requirements so you need to make sure you satisfy them all. For the UK:

The ministry said while the government wanted take care of everyone living here, it had no plans to give free vaccines to expats due to very limited vaccine stocks, so Thai people would be the first to get it.

Talking to my wife about her mother and father who are both over 60 yet they have no knowledge of how to go about getting a jab. They usually get their info from the temple or the Headsman but those avenues have not offered any info on when or how they can get vaccinated. They live in Khon Kaen, I have told Porn to get her sister there to make a few calls. Is there an actual route for them to take that anybody can advise as I doubt they will get a call. Well that new App the Government has just launched is the official medium for them to register as they are both over 60. Alternatively, if it is still not working, I would suggest that they visit their local Government Hospital and register there. It was when Sai and her Sister took their mother to the local hospital in Mae Sot for her diabetes check up that they both received Covid vaccinations there and then without any prior appointment. They also had a date for their second vaccinations which was on the 30th of last month so they have both now had the two jags. Neither Sai or her sister were in any priority group for vaccinations. Not having logged in early this morning I did not read the news that we, the great unwashed farlangs, are once again in the back of the queue for covid vaccinations. So at 08.00am this morning there I was entering Queen Sirikit hospital in Sattahip hoping to register for next months supposed batch of over age 60 vaccinations. Not only did that not happen the nice young lady at Reception advised me in good english that farlangs no longer could get treatment at Queen Sirikit Hospital of any description. In the past I have had nothing but praise for their medical services which I used on more than one occasion. She suggested I visit Sattahip 10K Government Hospital but sent me off in exactly the wrong direction so I was back home in Bangsaray by 09.00am no futher forward. I then logged into the forum and read why I had been wasting my time!
Toy Boy
Falangs can't get the vaccine at a government hospital but the private hospitals aren't being allowed to import any. All a bit Catch 22, isn't it?

Jambo
Well Sai and her sister are fortunate to be part of the 3% of the population of Tak Province who have received vaccinations and both jags as well. Still (officially) very low numbers of positive covid cases in Tak but Mae Sot itself may well have "suffered" from Burmese crossing the border. We were on our way to a restaurant one evening and passed what was very obviously an entrance to a quarantine "internment camp".
Toy Boy
Just to highlight how pathetically the Thai master race is doing on the vaccine front, the poverty-stricken barbarian hordes in Cambodia have so far injected almost 2 million shots for a population just a quarter the size of Thailand's, while the Thais have managed around 1.5 million. Even the poor, undeveloped, chaotic Philippines has carried out more injections than Thailand! Edited May 6, 2021 by Toy Boy
