Taken as a % of total population those numbers are still very small. As for the trends; daily new cases look like they have declined and have now stabilized at a fairly low rate, and daily deaths look like they're on the decline. Horizondave Posted February 27, 2020 Share Posted February 27, 2020 (edited) Poor old Porn was sent home from work for having a sore throat and a headache being told she could have corona virus and not to come back to her hotel until she has seen a doctor. Basically she has flu symptoms but because she told them I had returned from Shanghai in January they all got scared and panicked. The hotel kept calling including her manager (who is obviously spooked) and told she must get clearance from a doctor before she comes back to work. Trying to get a doctors appointment presently is very difficult so she calls 111 (NHS service) and after waiting ages gets through to an agent who after getting her symptoms tells Porn she will get a doctor to call her back. Doctor calls and says she sounds like she has flu as her symptoms do not display corona virus but says she should go to her doctor the next morning as he will refer her.(add to her notes online). Porn goes to the doctor and is told that no appointments but once they stare at her medical record she is told a doctor will see her right away. Goes in and doctor tells her to sit across the room, no checks but then told to go home and await a call back. Back home she goes and is phoned to be told to stay in doors, drink plenty of fluid and stay away from work until she feels better. No certificate as she is told the hotel can certify her first week on a form. Now she expects to go back next week but the hotel staff keep calling her and telling her she must get clearance to resume work from her GP, this is crazy as the GP has told her she has flu symptoms and not corona virus and the hotel fill in her certificate for the first week.. The panic and general misunderstanding in the community will cause a lot of problems. I know companies need to be aware of any impact on their businesses but this panic mentality will cause a lot of disruptions for schools, businesses etc when a general cautious approach would be better placed to deal with the fallout from this. This carries on with the ignorant and unintelligent approach then this country will come to a halt. Just happy that Porn gets paid while sick, Porn is smiling.
